Anyone excited for the .357 Lever action?

Recommended Posts

Cause I sure as hell am! With my survival logistics streamlined, I could actually focus on gathering needed tools, instead of running around looking for several different types of ammunition. Plus, lever-action rifles and revolvers are some of the sexiest firearms imaginable......

If they add a .45-70 Gov revolver and lever-action repeater, I will think I have died and gone to heaven. Powerful, reliable cartridge, easy to reload. What's not to love?

It was, originally.  There are smokeless versions available.

Couldnt care less about what gun, gunpart or bullet type they add next....

Seriously.

OP:  You should be more excited/focused/spending your time trying to get them to fix bugs and smooth out game play IMO.  It's comical to me that the reddit is plagued with people wanting new additions and new spawns to the game when hackers, bugs, and clips/glitches still exist.  The point of an alpha is to iron those things out first.  Once they smooth that stuff out, then adding becomes even easier.

With my survival logistics streamlined

Whatever you think you know in 0.49, forget it. 0.50 is a whole different ballgame (unless they make drastic changes before it's released to Stable, of course).

With that said, a lever-action is going to be a GREAT addition to the game in my opinion. I'm generally not fussed about what weapons we get (or if we even get any more), but since this is basically already confirmed, I may as well enjoy it.

You do realise that the people who design items, weapons and implements them aren't the same people who work with things like the engine, architecture, glitches and whatnot?

That's a rhetorical question. But I'll answer anyway.  Yes I do realize that.  Which is why I posted about the community and not the developers.

Thanks for your constructive insight.  As you can see in posts above people (generalizing) could honestly care less about additions and would like the game fixed first.

I have guns all around my house, and what do I keep by my bed side? My Marlin lever action 30-30. Old Reliable.

Yeah im looking forward to the lever action rifle. The 357 ammo weapons are sorely lacking right now. But im more excited for the pump action shotgun to be honest.

In my opinion, almost very weapon aside from assault rifles and automatic pistols has not yet received enough love.

I can only wait until jamming, weapon cleaning and maintenance is implemented.

Crap had to go through this topic and gave beans left and right.

I'm always glad when they introduce new weapons. Although if I had to chose, I'd rather take pump action shotty, but repeater is lovely as well.

Originaly I was against weapons that I felt did not fit former Soviet union state, but I've changed my ways.

I still do not want weapons like Kriss Vector or anything ultra fancy to be added, but repeater? Why not. Was in mod anyway right?

Only problem I see is the lack of ammo for it, but that can/will be tweaked.

Also to the people saying they do not care about new guns/items and that bugs and hacking should be a priority.

Alpha is for adding features and stuff, beta for polishing, plus dudes making gun/item models are hardly the same ones fighting with hackers or bugs.

So why not have both?

But yea I understand that if game was suddenly made 100% hack proof, it would mean a lot more than new rifle.

Personally I'm so eager for new renderer. So hope it will help with better frames.

Btw it has been kinda quiet lately right? I mean not so many posts from devs, I hope that majority of devs are not on sick leave, because it's this time in year when flu and other shit usually strikes.

edit: Am I the only one who gets "no message received" on stable every 10 - 15 minutes?

I mean I do not see that message at first, but I can not perform any action, can not open door, can not inspect items in inventory....

Gonna be especially great if they make it take time to reload magazines.

Yessir!

I hate HATE HATE how you can instantaneously "top off" empty magazines with loose rounds. It should take, at the very least, a couple of seconds, to do this, if not longer. How long do you think ti would take for you to manually insert 30 rounds into a spring-loaded magazine, without the help of a spring compressor (those things make it really easy.)?

Making "reloading" magazines take an "appreciable" (insert time of choice here. I prefer a minute per magazine, and I believe that is rather low. Anybody with actual experience, let me know about how long ti would take) would have an amazing effect on both tactical thinking and strategy. Do you run after that guy with only a few rounds left in the magazine, or do you take the time to top off the mag, just in case he has friends?

I think the whole inventory handling needs overhaul.

In my opinion, only stuff in easily accessible pockets (pants, jacket, tac vest) should be accessible via hotbar.

For stuff in backpack the ingame character should stop running and kneel. This whole reloading from backpack while sprinting is a bit crazy.

Not even the least bit interested.

Why not? Prefer an M4 or an AK? (snicker)

If they add a nice ol' duster along with that, I can make a cowboy with a .357 and the lever-action rifle. Yee-haw!

I wanted to sugest that, so game becomes more harcore. Also, reloading lose rounds to Mosin or revolver from jacket without going to inventory and manualy draging to weapon. I think if you know in which pocket are bulets you can take them without stoping.

Actually, that isn't the point of an alpha, dingus. The point of an alpha is to introduce gameplay features. Bug-stomping and anti-hacker stuff comes in beta...

I think the majority of people who post who don't understand what the heck an alpha is...
