Add Status Report to main menu

Recommended Posts

I'm sure we all have seen the countless posts and threads on various media outlets about upcoming features in this game and what state we're currently in. Some of these people don't follow the dev tracker or other social media where these reports are being posted, however they do play the game and have to look at this menu before going in. Maybe they could integrate it so that it uses internet cookies or something to know if you have visited the dev blog to read the latest Status Report and if not it would prompt however many Status Reports you haven't read. They could keep it in until the game reaches final release.

I'm just trying to think of ways to better inform people. Something like this...

They did the same thing for Take On Mars, with dev information/messages in the left corner, and a changelog button in the right corner.

Its a great idea, and shouldnt be to hard to create, the question is, is it worth creating, when theres so much other stuff to pay attention to atm?

Perhaps they can even "borrow" some code, because its the same company haha.

I think it's worth creating. I mean look at all the new poeple or casuals that don't read the dev tracker forum section yet they create a thread or post asking when X is going to be fixed, or when X feature is going to be added, etc when it's already been covered and discussed elsewhere. These threads and posts get created daily on here, other social media sites such as reddit and even spamming the dev's via twitter all asking about things that have or are currently being address in the status reports. It just seems these people aren't knowing where to look or are too lazy to look, so I figure putting something in upfront where it's impossible to overlook would give them direct access to the status report(s) and any dev blog post they might of missed since their last visit.

Thats true, but at the same time, the peopel who write these threads, on a daily basis, could have the information right in front of them and still not see it.

Dont get me wrong, i would love to see this in the menu, but it doesnt matter how well you deliver information to the public, people will always ask "stupid" questions and ask the same questions over and over again.

Hopefully we will get it, i really hope so. Its abit messy to have to go to these forums for a changelog, then go to tumblr for the status report and then go to twitter for random dev information.

And yes i know it all gets posted here, but the dev tracker is a mess imho.

I do like the Idea but with the forums and other websites updating you with newer information at least every week It wouldn't make a difference to me
