deal with it and move on, whining here isn't going to magically restore your character. Rule number 2 don't get attached to your gear or character, especially during the alpha stage as character resets(whether due to server crash or dev reset) are bound to happen.

Unscheduled restarts are causing many problems the last while.

Rule of thumb : give the server a few minutes before trying to re-join or pick a server that is populated.

 

If you notice an excessively long "wait for host" or other message, exit and try again.

The server is having difficulty fetching your data from the central hive.

Also, it gives you a countdown. If you see you're being respawned log of before the countdown ends and try another server and/or restart your game. Works for me. :)
