Bonappetit 117 Posted September 16, 2014 (edited) I never played dayZ mod and all the variety of said mod "mods". I remember seeing one with extreme loots on each corner (weapons mostly) and trader cities, I assume they aimed towards the PvP community. I honestly liked that alternative from an original mod, I loved that option which brought zero consequences in case you died (you could gear up in no time and get straight into action). DayZ SA for me feels more like PvE and RP game as it is, I do like both of the mentioned options/styles. My question would be will dayZ SA ever be open to mods as I would like to enjoy PvP more. I know this game came from a mod and is now a standalone version so perhaps this is just silly what I'm asking/looking for. I played the competitive CoD's and BF since they came out but honestly I enjoy DayZ PvP more as it came from a game which is basically a war simulator, suits my taste more. I'll still continue playing this game just for the sole purpose of PvP-ing even though it takes some time to gear up and find some proper action. PvP is part of the game, some people like it some don't. Don't hate for what I've asked please, like i said I really like this game I would just like to see some alternatives like the mods I've seen in Dayz mod on youtube. Camisado2 83 Posted September 16, 2014 Yes. I think eventually it will be open to mods.
Davidiusz 2 Posted September 16, 2014 (edited) Yeah, you most likely seen a deathmatch - there was a few servers offering them - or Epoch server (trader cities, base building, usually AI additional missions).I think (and hope) DZ:SA will be open for mods... so much great additional stuff. Also, if you're for looking combat simulation (PvP with most of DayZ mechanics) while waiting for mods and release, I highly recommend you try Arma 3 (with other players of course). According to what you said above, you might even enjoy it more than DayZ. The game itself is an awesome simulator, and there's alot of mods to it... from the top of my head - Altis Life, Battle Royale (this one you might like). IkaikaKekai 1957 Posted September 16, 2014 Mods will come, more than likely not until after Release.
hiniberus 122 Posted September 16, 2014 Dean's said it before, modding will be available after the new engine is implemented.
haknslash 763 Posted September 16, 2014 (edited) Dean's said it before, modding will be available after the new engine is implemented. Yup. Hicks has confirmed this as well. It will be interesting to see what the modding community comes up with. I hope for some new maps! Edited September 16, 2014 by haknslash

Ben_uk 24 Posted September 16, 2014 I'd like the ability to mod the vanilla game, things like sounds etc.
Pandema 352 Posted September 16, 2014 You know what the best mod for DayZ if you wanted a PvP game was? ArmA 2.
Etherious 907 Posted September 16, 2014 Mods will come when the game is finished and released, although I did hear a bit earlier that it might actually come sooner when they implement the new renderer. Oh man, I can't wait for dem RP and Hardcore (Survival wise) servers.
