Did i run into a hacker, or has the spawn chance for grenades increased dramatically?

I ran into Berezino and was trying to help a bambi open some of his canned food at the police station ( i know, not the best spot to do so, but it's irrelevant to the point ) when all of a sudden explosions rained down upon us. At first i thought we'd been spotted by a bandit and he tried to kill us with a grenade, but it wasnt just a single explosion. The first explosion broke both the bambi and I's legs and we crawled for cover underneath the stairs, when 3 more grenades were thrown, at various different angles to try and hit us through our cover. Luckily i survived, mostly uninjured except for a broken leg and looooots of ruined stuff. 

It made me think though, what was it that had just hit us? I wasn't sure if the spawn rate on grenades had increased to a point that would allow a bandit to waste 4 of them trying to hit a bambi.
Any ideas?

Most likely duped grenades. They'll soon be gone with the impending wipe.

Duplicates of items are created through the exploitation of bugs, not necessarily "hackers". Its a huge issue and part of the reason the hive is being wiped with the next update.

yeah might not have been nades at all.

Saw frequent explosions out by the tall red smokestacks opposite police station.  They periodically went off (just like some petrol stations do sometimes) and no evidence of players or grenades being thrown in berry.

I know that, feel, bro.  Personally, I liked the newer bridge map better, the one with alternate routes and whatnot.  AA 3.0 did a good job bringing back the original and balancing some of it.  Man... I need to redownload that game and see where it is at...

As stated, i was standing inside the police station at Berezino with no fuel station around...

I think the dupe bug might have been to blame, thanks everyone :)

I killed a guy last night who had a mountain backpack full of small protector cases which were full of grenades. He also had a glitched/infinite M4 and a glitched/infinite shotty.

The shotty is hilarious; I'm holding onto it until the wipe comes.

i took a mate (who's new to dayz) to berez lastnight. 
had AKM with 7 drum mags and a few other m4 bits and bobs.

killed 2 noobs who didnt listen. helped one guy. then heard a guy with a AKM picking off the guys i was helping.

i ran to the giant brick building u cant get inside. only on top. go by ladder. stand side on to ladder. hear AKM shooting right beside me. 
IM LIKE WTF. this guy walks out of the wall infront of me. shot me broke my arm. I shot him with about 10 shots. 1st one hit him right in the head. then he ran backwards into the wall again. 

but i was too quick. got him again and again. then he died. I yelled at him "haha what a dick, thats what you get for exploiting" haha bummer i couldnt loot his body for gear for my mate

next guy shows up 2 mins later. i told him to drop his gun. didnt listen. shot him. he ran. and ran around behind me killed me. 

damn. oh well good run.

next spawn. NOVO. run to tower 2 mins after spawning.

2 guys both dead @ ladder. free M4a1 with ammo's backpacks. protectors. ak101 etc. i was like GOLD!!!!!!!!! haha this game is random as hell!

 

btw 

look out on servers in australia for a clan called [AWP] there is a player Littleman and his mates all hackers/dupers/exploiters. CONFIRMED everyone knows.

nothing is done about it.  3 of them rushed 4 of us with nothing they were kitted to the teeth with M4a1's duped to baddest, full ammo's (hacked mags). killed 3 of us and started SQUEEKING at us in voip.

yes they are a squeeker clan.. luckily my friend was laggin behind us. ran around corner sees this noob looting our "FRESH SPAWN" bodies. i mean. why? we had nothing. my mate ran straight up to him he didnt care punched him in the head. 1 shot KO hahah took his m4 ran away. logged off. 
told me. gave me the hacked m4. i ran back to where they were. went up apartments. they were proned on roof. i waited at ladder. hear drinking sound. go up ladder. prone. pull out m4. kill him hahahah what a dick. i said HAHAH hacker. thats what u get. then got rid of the m4. his buddies persisted in hunting my friends down saying "you killed my mate, dont f'n lie. i know it was you" hah (no it was me) fools.

 

so yeah these guys are notorious for dupe  / hack / anoying squeeking idiots.
