Trick to recover reset character?

I've recently fallen in love with the hardcore servers, but it seems like every time a server restarts on me my character is reset. Recently, I was just randomly walking around and "testing...testing" popped up and we were all teleported to a lake with no gear. The whole server.

 

Now, I've heard if you join a server over and over it will eventually give you your character back, but I've been trying for an hour going between servers and game modes...and nothing.

 

Anything work yet? I know it's something being fixed.

Try joining another server - sometimes it works. I think its essential to be quick about it because otherwise your new character will overwrite the old one.

Yes. And its the same crap that was happening the darkest days of the mod. This is not boding well for the game, in my opinion. And I have been one of the staunchest fans of DayZ since the early mod. But if we are at this point in development and they can't control the same crap that occurred back in the mod, I have serious concerns.

It's not a hack it's alpha. Hacks are impossible due to dayz being an mmo style code.

if you find yourself "whiped" after switching Servers... DONT MOVE AROUND EXIT RIGHT AWAY find another Server and see if that helped. If not.... Print out a sticker that says "ALPHA" and apply to forehead.

Also, find like 3-4 Servers you frequent regulary and stick to them.
