Yeah, I get about 30mins play before I crash - it was pouring down when I was playing, so I don't know if the rain = crash theory... holds much water...

Yeah, it doesn't. I was grasping at straws, chasing a dream....

For the record, pick axe and machete are still useless.

And you only seem to get kicked of the game the moment you get fps  lag, So if your for example in police station going up stairs at sprinting speed normaly some might have a small fps drop,  that drop seems to trigger the kick 100% of the time. there might be other ways too.

thanks for clearing that up hicks, is there any news available with a new timeframe? most people are getting kicked so fast that there are no  bugs to report at this time :P

I won't bore you guys with details on version # protection - Eugen and the programmers are working on a build from today with some additional bugs squashed - but if that can't be prepped in time for a good smoke/regression testing we'll push the version intended for last night.

And you only seem to get kicked of the game the moment you get fps  lag, So if your for example in police station going up stairs at sprinting speed normaly some might have a small fps drop,  that drop seems to trigger the kick 100% of the time. there might be other ways too.

I just walked up a police station and broke my legs, then I got 1 hit by a zombie in the head.

AH good news (plus its great to see some official voices on the forums) so either way we will be playing again with or without extended bug fixes..

 

Now to find something to do while i wait anything to stop the withdrawl twitches...(ps thank the audio guy or the coders or who ever it was that seem to have stopped the random sounds bug much MUCH better.

New Bug found, after being kicked so many times, My entire client was reset, including all characters tied too it.. Hardcore, Regualr Stable branch as well as my exp :/

I think the reason why many people think this bug is fixed are the -in the current exp version- less populated servers.

 Long ago I made the observation that these random sounds only occur on servers under heavy load for some time . . .

The sounds seem to be more popular on big servers because if im not mistaken (tested with some firends) the sounds indicate someone is doing something within 1km of you/or within the grid you are in. hence you hear it less on quiet servers. because no ones around you.

That could be it with all the crashing problems the servers have been quite low populated ah well bugger i thought they had got a handle on it ....

I love experimental and I love unofficial changelog on reddit. And I love when experimental updates are once a week. But they are wellcome to push updates every day :)

Hicks, just on a sidenote, it's good to see you more active here. It really helps to have a member of the dev team among us, and your tweet from yesterday probably prevented many Exp players from messing with their drivers / system to "fix" the CTD issue.

Ok very strange, quite a few people have reported that the update yesterday was showing as a 4+GB download, personally mine was only 800 and something MB. But I just logged into Steam and DayZ started updating Exp with a 4.2GB update :-\

Anyone else getting this or know why??

Thanks Hicks, and you guys take the time you need. I'd rather have a working version that's taking some more time than a hastely put together half-thing that would have to be fixed yet again. :)

Switching back from stable, the update is 1.1GB.

"New update"? More precise: You already downloaded the exp update yesterday and this is the one Hicks mentioned yesterday?

Yesterdays update was 980-ish MB, so one would assume 1.1 GB is the update Hicks mentioned yesterday for the "AM".

I have no idea lol. Got the 723MB Experimental update yesterday, found out its broken, went to stable because i wanted to play, now going back to Experimental, downloading 1.1GB of data.

Same problem, got the 1.1GB update and still CTD within 30 seconds of spawning in every time.
