Deadmanbill 0 Posted August 27, 2014 Hi all, im playing on stable.48 . i wasa new spawn on the coast near the island, so after finding lots of food, water, and a firemans axe, i thought im going to go have a look round skalisty island as ive never been on there, after searching every single building, and even the radar tower, i found absolutely NO LOOT on the whole island. . im on a server with 6 people, so no chance it has been pillaged fully..then much to my amusement and annoyance, i was set upon by 3 Zeds, that were more than 300metres away and i was walking in tree lines, they made a b-line straight for me, and i did not get ONE hit on either of the zeds, yet i was being hit with every strike of theirs, thus me dieing from this situation. has anyone else had this on the island or is it just a one off and im the unfortunate one ?? svisketyggeren 662 Posted August 27, 2014 Once on Skalisty island I got a branch stuck in my left cheek...all the loot was inside the branch, but it exploded when I tried to remove it with a lake nearby

ebrim 998 Posted August 27, 2014 (edited) Not true, I've found loot on Skalisty. One time I went there while starving and well, starved to death because I found nothing like you. Recently I took a trip though and found some stuff. There's a house a little to the south(?) of the radio tower that can spawn some clothing/food, I've seen canvas pants there. The radio tower when I went up had a crossbow, I moved it and logged off. Several hours later when I logged back in, I went back up and found some .357 ammo. The island isn't where you should go if you're desperate for equipment but it's not entirely barren. Once we have salt water fishing, the island will actually be a viable survival spot due to its water pump. As a general note, not all loot spawns spawn loot all the time, so it's entirely possible to be in an area with loot spawns and see nothing without someone having come through. blackberrygoo 1416 Posted August 27, 2014 Wow I for some reason thought they removed all of the buildings on the island when they moved to standalone ... I'm gonna check this beast out soon, I loved the feelin of going to skalitsy mostly to check for helicopters , but it also really made you feel like the island was a safe haven of sorts , having to swim out to it .. But at any rate I think I'll have my first barricaded house (we need barricades soon!! ) at skalitsy maybe a lil' farm up on that bitch, Id be set .
Finchtastic 50 Posted August 27, 2014 I've had the same experience in .48, I swam all the way out there to search EVERY building and only found zombies...They spawn zombies out there, but no loot... There was literally ZERO items on that island...On the DayZ SA map, it says there are multiple spawn points on the island, but there is no loot when you go there...Until they add some animals and farming/fishing, you're wasting your time going out there. Deadmanbill 0 Posted August 27, 2014 yeh i only went out there for a look around as i was new spawn, so had nothing to lose, seems the dayzdb map is not correct on many spawn locations, they may aswell just guess and say go look for yourself , instead of the whole world going off an article advising which locations to go
nl 986 Posted August 27, 2014 So I stand corrected, the most recent patch apparently does make it possible for some loot to spawn on Skalisty.

In fact its quite possible to play the game only on Skalisty...which I will be doing until beta reaches our shores

What gave you that idea? :p I've given the same thought to barricading myself on Skalisty, but it seems like it would be one of the first places somebody would look for a camp once that is implemented in the game. If you never planned on leaving, it would be great.

Tatanko 5591 Posted August 28, 2014 Well eventually you would probably get sick (assuming flu, diseases and infections will be implemented) and go to hospitals to find medicine.Definitely true. I don't think that staying in one place all the time is going to be possible.
