SA only servers

Is it possible or are there any Stand Alone only servers, where mod players cannot participate?  I find many players with stuff that is obviously not available in the SA version which makes the game less then enjoyable.

 

Anyone think SA only servers should be available to provide a level playing field?

Do you mean you see people on SA with like, infinite magazines or mosins that auto fire? Those are hacks. People are paying money for illegal hacks. They are not real items from other games. They are scripts.

What exactly have you see in SA?

Or are you just not aware that some items are harder to find. Give us more info and we can help.

No mod players on SA servers ... or ... well ... plenty of us played the mod, but you can't join a SA server without having started the SA client up.

If people have stuff you haven't seen, it's either the few hack items mentioned or more likely stuff you just haven't found out where to loot yet.

I don't think we understand correctly. He perhaps saw auto fire mosins (a new hack or glitch that has popped up)... Or, he is not aware of how rare some items are... Like the AKM only spawns 25% of what the M4 did and only in certain places.

The OP mistakenly believes that the Mod and SA share severs.  They do not.  Anything you see in game has been added (or is a hacked in Item, such as infinite ammo).  More detailed is needed however.

Ok, so if I am reading you all's posts correctly.  You cannot use a Mod client to play SA?  Correct?

 

I have run into folks on servers who have body armor, specialist weapons, whole teams with fully matching gear..... that I have never seen or found in my 500+ hours of playing on both high and low population servers.

The initial question was due to my not knowing that Mod users do not share servers with SA servers.  I know this now.

 

New question is, how is it that some users have gear that is not normally available in SA, or at least that I am aware of?

 

Is there a source/listing where I can see what loot should be available on the version I am playing?

 

It is also understood that some gear is hard to find.  I tend to stick with common gear because the ammo and accessories also tend to be more common and this makes the game more enjoyable.

There are some types of "body armor" in game (Anti-stab Vests, Press Vests and even Assault Vests provide some protection). The "specialist weapons" you encountered were probably standard weapons outfitted with some special attachments like:

• AKM with drum magazine (might be perceived as LMG)
• AKM/AK101 with PSO-1 Scope  (might be perceived as DMR)
• Mosin with Long range Scope (might be perceived as Sniper Rifle)

There's no way to 'hack' new items into the game, at least on legit versions of the game.  If they're wearing it, it was made by the Devs.  There are many many items in game currently, and they try to add more with each patch.  I've yet to find an AK or Longhorn in the game, but they exist.  People running around with matching clothes is possible they used a glitch to dupe the gear, but they could have farmed it as well.  Most of the 'high end' gear spawns in military areas only, with the biggest usually being PVP areas or places where snipers camp.  As a loner I try to avoid these areas, though sometimes I do get lucky (snag a magazine for my guns in vehicle wrecks away from bases).

Dude, its very simple. You play legit and try to get gear on full servers, but many people get gear on empty servers and also exploit a way to duplicate their gear.

It is all serverside. If you see some equipment in the game, the information of it is in the server. If it was clientside I dont think it would be possible even then. Anyways I dont quite follow the logic behind asking if you can use mod client to go to DayZ SA servers. It is like asking if you could join GTA 5 servers in GTA 4.
