Who misses the old sound of the Mosin? Idk...I've been playing a lot more lately and I just can't get over how much I still hate the new sound.

 

It's so...metallic-y and weird. I thought I'd get used to it but I just can't

 

The original mosin sound reminded me of the old Springfield sniper sound from MOH:AA (aaah...good times) It just had a much more deadly sound to it, scared the piss out of me whenever I heard it lol

I'd be lying if I didn't say I liked the old one, however, I have no doubt that the current is just a work in progress, like many of the weapons.

Well my hopes are that they revert to the original sound. Could also do with a sound change for the mp5 lol. Sounds like a sound clip from an old hunter game flash lol xD

 

And while i'm on other gun sounds, I hope they keep the sporter's as well. I think it sounds awesome

The old one was horrible and out of place. Not saying this one is perfect, but it is 10 times better.

Meh I prefer it much over the one now. Now it just sounds like a loud metallic sound, way to much high-end sound.

I vote for a live recording session with multiple mics at various distances for a mosin.  Let's go for outright realism, in my opinion.

 

Otherwise, I haven't heard the old sound, so I can't have an opinion one way or another, as to the other choices.

Nope, was louder and had a much more robust sound. Less reverb on the high-end, however

The old sound is ugly and weird. At least in the videos I have seen because I didn't play DayZ back then. The new sound is a huge improvement but like all current gun sounds it seems way too quiet and sounds less powerful than it should. Thats why it seems "metallic-y". Making it louder and maybe slightly lower pitched might be enough.
