The Community's List of Suggested Weapons for Dayz Standalone (Version: 1.29)

Is that a cut-down SKS with a 20 round magazine, folding wire stock, and silencer, and I'm guessing modified for full auto too? -

The main issue I see is the AKM is already in game, and the differences between firearms are so few they wouldn't be visible in-game. The only thing it would add is -maybe- thematics, but then I still would like to make a point that we'd see more variance and expanded gameplay through a number of other guns which have been suggested. -

Have to ask, why the 47? -
Fair enough, fair enough.

If it came down to how common they are becoming a concern, then I could see an argument for spawn-only, though as a fun thought perhaps you'd need to find a book on it as a first step in order to craft it, as an extra component most people wouldn't think of, not to mention complexity would be greater than anything we presently craft. As for consistency and variants, that's just a part of something hand-made which is not serialized. Given all this, even with your valid points on the Uzi, I would say that the BSP would be a better choice for a criminal-sourced weapon, and a more situation-fitting weapon in general. -

Other than the BSP it's the first gun that comes to mind for a common gang fully automatic weapon. Still, regardless of anything else, that the BSP is an easy-to-make submachinegun present in the black market worldwide, it's still what I'm putting my suggestion behind said BSP for this sort of thing. -

Yeah... just gonna say that common criminal element weapons, like the Tec-9 and BSP would make far more sense than an Uzi. Sure Uzi's are cool... but other guns make far more sense. And the BSP gets extra points in my mind for being potentially craftable. -
Crimping the rings closed is not historically accurate, as previously pointed out, Most chainmail was riveted. Modern professionally made chainmail, ex sharkmail, is welded. Anyhow.

As a suggestion, what about gang / criminal / survivalist / otherwise illegally produced firearms? Maybe something like the 9mm BSP? -

Out of curiosity for calibers, what about 30-30 Winchester? It's about 2-3 times more powerful than a .357 magnum yet used in the same type of guns generally, is a popular hunting round, and lets you get revolvers, lever action rifles, and bolt action rifles using the round. -
You're the first person I've ever heard call DayZ the "anti-game." And if DayZ were not supposed to be fun, then there would be no point to the devs balancing things, or anyone playing it in the first place.
-
And what if "group/friend" spawns were separated from the standard spawns, and in less optimal locations? Also, that "risk involved" in just trying to play with friends in the first place, is something which makes the game less enjoyable for me. Games are meant to be fun, not second jobs.

Care to explain why not taking a half hour to meet up with friends to enjoy a game together is a bad thing?
-
Amen to this. I don't even play this game as a shooter outside of self defense, but in general I like being able to do things with friends, and I dislike having to spend a half hour trying to just meet up with them.
