Different hives loading the wrong chars (Please Read)

To keep it short I know im not alone in this problem. Many of my friends, and clan mates are experiencing the same problem. We join Hardcore servers and it loads our normal char load outs but the hardcore rules apply. Then we join a normal server and our hardcore characters load. So in a team of 4 friends we usually get 2 people on their normal chars and 2 on their hardcore ones or some variation between the 4 of us.

In 12 different server joins not one time have we all loaded on our hardcore characters at once and been able to just play.

 

I first noticed it about 4 days ago and have submitted a bug report and haven't heard back or seen it on the bug tracker but maybe I didn't look hard enough.

 

I love this game to death as do my friends and clan members but currently this game in it's current state is more or less unplayable for me outside of a solo capacity and that's just not fun for me most days. I feel like each new patch breaks more than it fixes ultimately and adds a wave of problems that we rarely hear dev feedback on.

 

Heli crashes broke what like 2 weeks ago? Still haven't seen or heard anything in regards to them fixing that or even coming on these forums to say yo guys we know it's broken, sorry, we are working on it and will have a ETA in the future so at LEAST people don't spend 20+ hrs wasting their time looking for something that doesn't exist right now.

 

 

TL:DR  Game company communication to customers is EXTREMELY lacking, love dayz but it's currently unplayable and pissing me off so I will be taking a break if tonight's update doesn't fix alot. So we will see...

Pick a server and stick to it.

Happened to me all this week. DayZ is broken and I have quit playing this awful alpha game who can't even communicate to its customers or patch the extreme hacking and server problems. Enjoy my $30 gypsies.

What you just said there shouldn't be and isn't possible. Hardcore and Regular servers are on separate hives and you can't transfer between them (unless some radical change happened recently that I'm completely oblivious of).

The other day my regular stable character spawned into hardcore.. I hadnt seen it in a while, so it was quite a surprise.

 

The problem is I had to run to Devils Castle twice because I thought, well I guess this is my hardcore character now and made the trek. Next spawn in to hardcore and Im my old hardcore character, in the same old spot, not at Devils.. Even later I spawned into regular, and my character is at Devils.. lol.

Since it wasn't explicitly mentioned in the first post, I wanted to ask something (3 things).

Can you explain the timing in more detail? How long do you wait between joining servers? Are you hopping or are you experiencing this during new sessions only?

Are you all joining at the same server at the exact same time or do you spread it out a little? Players joining a server puts a tremendous load on the server and too many at once could cause issues (maybe?).

And can you provide server names or more specifically which service providers you were trying (Vilayer, GameServers, Multiplay, etc).

But from reading your post you say if 4 of you join the very same server 2 of you get reg hive characters and the other 2 get hardcore hive characters? I've never had this happen to me.

 

 

(I'm editing because I know that post isn't really much help!) 

I only use hardcore and only use Oldschool DayZ servers one or two. I've never had any problems on either those servers. Could try them?

We do - just because you didn't search for it, doesn't mean it's not there and most definitely doesn't mean there's no communication. Admittedly it's not all handed to you on a silverplate, but there is no need for that anyway, it's fr too complex to be able to distribute the information evenly anyway.

 

We have the DevTracker, we have all the information around, you just need to read it. This is how the modern age works. If I want to know something, I need to read up on it.

 

If this is going to be another one of those topics where you just come here ranting about information that is not available you should check your sources first. I personally do not read Twitter nor Reddit, because I don't like it - but yet I still seem to be having all the necessary information from this Forum. Can't really call that a lack of information.

This argument is old and flawd. YOU pick one server and stick with it, but not everyone plays you play. If a hacker is roaming free or a server dies off on population im sorry but I'm not sticking around. So can you continute to focus on the topic please and maybe leave your personal criticisms for how others should play the game somewhere else?

I wouldn't of made this thread if it weren't possible, because IT IS happening. At this point I'm just trying to find out by how many and how frequently. Or maybe associate a pattern amongst people with the problem to try and identify a reason as to why.

We tried all the game host provider servers. We waited the traditional 99 seconds between joining servers. And no we weren't hopping yet did try multiple servers within a 10 min time frame due to being unable to all join on the same server with our hardcore characters at the same time. 1-2 people were always loading in on a regular character so we figured it a fluke and kept trying different servers, The results were the same everytime.

First of all I can admit when I'm wrong, but this is I also first mentioned weeks ago and I searched for a goo 7-9 days and came up with nothing so I got tired of trying. So it's not like I never searched ever.

 

Secondly my post about lack of communication was NOT referring to one specific thing. It was to a variety of things, and I do check the tracker frequently generally. I find most of the info put out is in the form of twitter, reddit etc and I don't see why people need to seek out those types of sites to find info that should be posted in an easy to find place on the forums first.

 

It's not fair to label me a "ranter" or this a "rant post" simply because you may not agree with my opinions. I'm a customer, yes a customer for an alpha but still a customer. Me providing feedback whether it be negative but tasteful or postitive should be encouraged. I don't think i said anything here that was over the top or a "rant" or this topic would already be closed wouldn't it?

 

I'm not the type to the back and forth argument thing over difference of opinions. I said what I needed to say as did you although from my perspective I detected a fair amount of sarcasm and attitude in your post but addressing it will make it even worse so I'm willing to overlook it as it's hard to interpret intent and tone over the internet.  I still think communication by this company needs alot of work and stand by that statement. If you want to know my reasons in detail via PM or publicly I'll be happy to do so but i doubt you really do.

 

So far for me this game has been more or less an enjoyable experience up to this point for an alpha and the game shows much promise. But I feel things have been on a slow downspiral from each new patch to the next fixing/adding 1-3 things and breaking several more. Being an alpha im fine with that as it comes with the terrirory. The part I'm not happy about is that certain things that feel like key elements to me don't get hot fixed and info on said fixes put out sooner now that theres supposedly a much larger staff, but it is what it is.

 

Either way, they know and this is totally sidelined from my original topic of the cross linked hives which I didn't see on the tracker either? So I'll resume that topic as that was my original focus. Cheers

You see, this is the kind of stuff that has been going on for a while. Neither your nor me can do anything about it. It's the Developer's preferred way of communicating and we're putting it all together in one place for convenience (as there is no searchfunction on Twitter, if I remember correctly). You can, however, search on here. And this is what I did.

 

I searched for "Heli Crash" on the Forum and found this thread, explaining everything I need to know regarding this. This doesn't mean you have to constantly search for it, but the information is still there and was for over a week at the point of you posting this - which is why this information should have theoretically been available to you.

One (important) thing to note, however:

 

None of us are in any way affiliated with Bohemia Interactive. We do not receive money, we are here on a voluntary basis. You are not my customer, I do not owe you anything. We are here to keep this (in some regards official) Forum going, but it is a community-Forum after all.

 

 

I am sorry if I came across as sarcastic - I am merely a (sometimes cynical) guy that points out facts to people and comes across as being sarcastic and talking down to people more often than I actually am doing that. It's all down to it being written text rather than actual talk between people.

 

 

If you're reporting bugs on the Feedbacktracker you should note, that that is actually being taken care of by BI-employees - meaning it's a better way of contacting Devs in regards to bugs / fixing them.

But this also means that they're on a 9 to 5 day, which is why I would not expect an acknowledgement within a mere 4 days.

Dude. I was sincerely offering you advice. Maybe I should have elaborated.

Pick a stable, happy, healthy, non-buggy server and stay there. Providing you are not overrun by hackers or the server dies. As it seems you problem centers around changing servers frequently.
