Apom 13 Posted July 11, 2014 I press T and nothing happens. Was wondering if the akm can be single fired? Maybe I unassigned a key??
doctajones 123 Posted July 11, 2014 Just click your mouse rather than holding it down... Just because it is full auto doesn't mean you HAVE to shoot it full auto.
Red_Ensign 990 Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) yeah if you click just light and fast it fires a single round, or two at the most. the ak's probably the easiest auto to do do it with, because the others fire faster. Edited July 11, 2014 by Red_Ensign
Dchil 829 Posted July 11, 2014 Why on earth would you use an AK on anything other than full auto when you have the ability to use it that way?
doctorbadsign 645 Posted July 11, 2014 Why on earth would you use an AK on anything other than full auto when you have the ability to use it that way? Well isn't the point of an assault rifle: it's versatility: i.e: single accurate shots at range and rapid fire for close range?
Dchil 829 Posted July 11, 2014 Well isn't the point of an assault rifle: it's versatility: i.e: single accurate shots at range and rapid fire for close range? But you are forgetting something, No AK needs to be on semi auto when it has a giggle switch. Why? Because AK.
Etherimp 1323 Posted July 11, 2014 Why on earth would you use an AK on anything other than full auto when you have the ability to use it that way? Why on earth would you use full auto on any weapon? It's honestly the easiest way to lose a gun fight. AKM with a drum mag, or M4 with a 60 round coupled mag.. doesn't matter.. It takes 1-3 shots to kill.. You should land those 1-3 shots fairly easily by tap firing. The only time I could rationalize using full auto is if you're spamming shots through a door/window at someone, or if a group of players is bunched up in a narrow hallway... and how often does that happen?
GeorgieBest 7 Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) Why on earth would you use an AK on anything other than full auto when you have the ability to use it that way? You obviously don't know very much about weapons handling in real life. In the British army at least you are trained to always use your weapon on semi-auto fire. You should never have to fire your weapon faster than you can pull the trigger, and you will rarely need that ROF either. The only time you should need full auto is when you are in extreme CQB environments, which should be rarely, you are a civilian with a gun, not a trained member of the SAS. I really want them to put in a indicator on the top right so you know what mode you are on... Edited July 11, 2014 by GeorgieBest

But if i ever get my hands on a full auto AK (IRL) i'm doing a mag dump (if i can). If only once.

I've used full auto a couple times. I had a guy shoot me as I was entering a tent. He saw me go down and thought I was out or dead but I was only prone. I bandaged. As he approached the side of the tent I could hear him run up so I fired 30 rounds through the side of the tent. After a couple minutes to make sure he was alone I went outside and he was dead. Also ran out of a police station and some dude with a pistol basically ran into me. I said "friendly, hey man" and he started firing. A one second spray of full Auto saved me. Oh and I was in the barracks north west of NWAF and I cleared the barracks and closed the doors. I found a 30 slot pristine hunter backpack and was switching my gear. Some dude spawned behind me and started shooting me an sks, I spun around and sprayed & prayed. Ruined almost all my gear except my old bag which was on the floor. I use my AK/M4 to suppress. It works really well in this game. I knocked someone unconscious by just spamming bullets at him.

Those situations sound like a reasonable time to use full auto... or a lot of bullets..
doctajones 123 Posted July 13, 2014 Obviously there are times where full auto is great, but do you really need a button to single fire a gun when you can do it manually? Keeping it in full auto and manually single firing is better, anyways, as you can also fire bursts or full ammo at will, without pressing a button to do so
Evil Minion 943 Posted July 13, 2014 Why on earth would you use an AK on anything other than full auto when you have the ability to use it that way?Semi-auto is much more controllable and does not eat your ammunition nearly as fast. Thats why some assault rifles don't feature full-auto at all and replace it with burst mode instead. I hope both the AKM and the MP5 will get their fire mode switch in the future. GeorgieBest 7 Posted July 14, 2014 It thought MP5 had a single shot mode. Either that or my mouse glitched? The fire mode seems temperamental at best, I've had times where the M4 stays on full auto even after pressing T.
