Why does hardly anyone report abusive servers?

Just curious, seeing the sheer amount of servers that are locked and/or "Join = kick" or "join = delete stuff" etcetc is quite a fair bit. If everyone that goes on the forums just reports one server I'm pretty certain there'd be a lot of crying basement dwelling neckbeards that lost their server (and a better server list for us) no?

To your OT, I guess its just annoying to report and nothing is done.  That's the way they want to run it.  Find a server that doesn't do that.

They wasn't allowed to ban people I think. Must be new feature for private server admins or a  hack.

For me I usually forget what server I was even on and the history is pretty broken never seems to show the order of servers I've actually went in, if they fixed that much and added a report button it'd be fine.

 

Yesterday I went on some server and the moderator was SwagLord or something, I was only in it about 20 minutes before I crashed to the desktop but the town I was at(just below NWAF) was like filled with guns...seems like they were abusing loot for sure at least.

EDIT also like every house had been in it's not like I visited an untouched town but I found an MP5-K in those orange buildings with the blue interior, room with a knocked over fridge. Pretty sure they don't normally spawn there. And I also found like 12 SKS's and Mosin's which is just silly.

 

At the start a server message from SwagLord was saying to drop all your gear or something too(I didn't ant nothing happened though, unless that's why it crashed...)

Well you can ignore all those join= kick or delete messages, they can't do shit, it is just to scare you so that the admin and his hind riders have a free server with all loot to gear upon, because they are to weak and lack to much skill to do it in a populated server. Just join in, I always do and nothing ever happened to me.

only way is to try. I did with 5 and all 5 servers had to be reported 3 times but now they stay without password.

Because its too much work for me to report them. You can say it only takes a minute to report a server but I'm trying to play DayZ not spend two minutes babysitting admins. If they add an in game report button I will report all day long.

Reporting does work but we're lazy humans. Hardly any of us report stuff to the tracker either. The reason is every little step on the way is like a hurdle. Two clicks to the tracker? Nope. If it's not in my face and easy then chances are I won't make it. Report servers? No chance. It's lots of steps and each step is a hurdle and each hurdle means it's less likely we reach our objective.

 

I've been thinking of posting this to the tracker but I haven't bothered because although I care I don't two clicks and fill out a report and some more clicks care. I think it's a joke we don't have a link to the tracker on every page of this forum.

 

Another thing someone mentioned is there's so many trolls these days that the reporting would overwhelmed with troll reports. I say ban players for multiple false reports. Have a notice on the reporting form telling them they could be banned for false reports.

 

If there was a report server button in the server list then and it sent server name, ip, reporter names(steam id and in game name) then at least we could quickly get rid off all the servers with names that break the rules. Have it 3 strikes and they can't hire a server again.
