Stairs at the Military building with the cell

Hi,

 

i think that the design of the stairs at these Builds are fail. if you go upstairs a camper can be in a 180°

radius and shoot you in your neck or from the side or front.

 

If there would be a wall in stead of the rails it would be much more balanced.

Right now its almost a operation metro escalator situation in bf3.

 

I know granades are out. But i cant throw one in this building to get rid of the campers, each time i enter it.

 

What do you think?

If you can't handle the situation stay away from it. Seen plenty of videos where the guy going up the stairs wins. It all depends on the players. And it seems silly to introduce such a change in the building just for the sake of easymode.

Sometimes you are at disadvantage, the map wasn't built in such a way so you can always have advantage over everyone else. Don't go there if you don't want to risk.

 

Actually a camper in that position has no way of retreat so I think he is pretty much screwed.

You see the 'military building'  is build the specific way to be easy to defend and allow single defender to take care of many attackers.

 

Something like medival castles.

 

DayZ (Arma) are kinda realistic simulator games and not competetive first person shooters that need to have PvP balanced buildings and map.

 

Real life is not fair and DayZ is not fair in this case.

 

PS.

 

And you know how attackers dealt with it in medival?
They invented thing called a 'siege' and waited till defenders starved to death or surrendered.

And guess what, you can do it in DayZ too.

it was hardcore, but its still the same problem.

sure i stay out of the building and wait. And he starves to death? Or wait. Maybe he just logs out.

 

And the other stuff you write is nonsence too. You cant defend in barracks easy vs many attackers and they are not designed for it.

Why you have to rush upstairs? There is nothing super special you absolutely need. If you know he´s in wait for him to come out and mow him down. If he knows you are out there wait a bit and move on. You can wait till he logs or tries to come out but there is not much sense in rushing upstairs.

wait...by OP´s logic we have to make all buildings just..corridors... :| but than you have to remove leaning because thats an Advantage if you lean first...oh my....

play peekaboo until he runs out of ammo. then run up, equip your bare-knuckles, and knock his old ass out.

Why you have to rush upstairs? There is nothing super special you absolutely need. If you know he´s in wait for him to come out and mow him down. If he knows you are out there wait a bit and move on. You can wait till he logs or tries to come out but there is not much sense in rushing upstairs. 

 

The point is, this building is a real life copy of military building designed the way to make it hard for people who will try to storm it to get up those stairs and make it easy for defenders to kill people who will try to get up those stairs.

How do i know that there is someone? If the doors are closed and loot is still there. If i go upstairs to take a look. i have the 180° situation. In hardcore mode

and i think 30% of the military loot on the map spawns in that damn building.

Just move backwards on the stairs. I always see if someone is there even if he is lying on the ground - ah and yes, without getting shot. ;)

i think players attacking military areas should have a protective bubble that stops them being hit for 5 minutes

with desync gods being crazy, I have seen many times when peekaboo ended up badly for the person who did it. You think you only peeked for a split second, while server thinks it lasted for 10 seconds, and low and behold, you are dead.

Biggest problem is not the buildings design but 3pp allowing you to camp the stairs while seeing downstairs.

You should be at a disadvantage trying to take those stairs.  Not all fights are going to involve equal footing, sometimes you will have the better position and others they will.  You have to either accept it or avoid buildings with these kind of situations.
