Pistols - Am i doing it right?

Im getting seriously annoyed with handguns and the way they work in this game.

 

Finding one is quite easy, along with the ammo. Finding a clip is impossible unless i wanna die in NWAF.

 

So, i have the pistol, and the ammo in the inventory. I fire a shot (just hit a guy with 5 1911 hits btw and didnt die), then have to open the inventory, then either right click my ammo pile, or drag and drop ammo onto the gun in my hands, to load, yet another, single round.

 

Is there no quick way of doing this? Having to basically run in a circle being chased by an axeman and dragging inventory items around all for the sake of 1 round is stupid.

 

All pistols shouldnt be empty anyway. I mean, who the hell has a pistol and no clip anywhere near it? It just makes them to awkward and too much hassle most of the time, unless im goofing it up all the time and doing it wrong.

Ok, some lessons are to be learned here:

1. mag, not clip

2. if you do not have a mag, do not use it yet unless its one shot-one kill

3. if you face an axe, and you have a pistol that is now empty.. use your fists or melee.

4. do not ever attempt to go into a fight of any sort without a proper tool or idea of what to do when things go wrong.

5. there are limitless other places to obtain a pistol mag besides the NWAF.

uhm...

 

dont use anything 9mm ( opinions might vary )

 

FNX are the kings imo, close ups are magnums...

 

the others are really not worth a look if you have options.

 

IMOH....there is a drawback in having ammo ready in your backpack ( longer way to drag ammo to weapon ) and another one having it stored close ( can be ruined easy if shot at )

 

*again rule is...put FNX in containers...*

 

 

your choice really...

It's also worth mentioning that they've said they plan on having it be a more fluid command in chambering an individual round, I suspect they'll just make the R key chamber one round in lieu of a magazine.

Whats stupid is that it takes 4 slots of my bag, when in real life a holster could be improvised or made in minutes

yes...added holster choices are needed....plus...UI *and a beliveable representaion of RL*..is on of the hardest things imoh...

Improvised Holster is a great idea. Its right up there with a leg holster. 

 

I'd love to see the option to sling things over our shoulder and around our necks.. like a binoculars strap so you can hang it around your neck. All coming with an additional noise factor that makes it a choice of carrying things inside to keep quite or outside to carry more items.

I wouldn't mind a single pocket slot in the shirt being the dedicated ammo slot for reloading weapons without magazines or stripper clips.

 

Single slot that is perhaps red in the shirt that you automatically feed from when pressing r.

idea:

 

pliers + chest holster = leg holster...*also allows to store either kitchen or combat knife*

 

burlap sack + rope + *ashwood stick if you must* = gunbag , i.e = second primary longbarrel weapon, for a penalty on running speed and of course endurance.

I dump extra mags etc at police stations all the time, often with a lit flare to draw attention.
