Does each gun require ammo?

Hi,

Im a new player to the game and have discovered a couple of guns and some ammo during my travels. Does each gun require its own type of ammo? I tried to use some ammo in one type of gun but the game told me the ammo wont fit.

Also, do all guns found have no ammo in them?

Check the description of the gun itself, usually tells you what type of ammo goes into it.

 

M4 - 5.56

Mosin - 7.62x51

Izh43 Shotgun - 12 gauge shells

CR75 - 9mm

FNX- .45ACP

1911- .45ACP

Magnum - .357

SKS - 7.62x39

Amphibia S - .22

Sporter - .22

P1- 9mm

And to answer your second question, yes, all guns are empty when you find them. Also, some guns will require a magazine to be truly effective, otherwise you will have to reload 1 round after each time you fire.
