Southern portion of map seem sparse these days?

Ever since the spawn changes the southern portion of the map seems "sparse" from a player standpoint to me. Anyone else notice this? On 30+ player servers I can run around Elektro and a few other places down there and quite often see noone (the airfield is another story though).

Stand on top of school/ firestation in electro for 5 minutes and I am sure you will have an encounter. It works best if you look fully geared with a big packpack.

Everyone's spawning in Berezino because the developers - in their infinite wisdom - thought that spawning way up north would be a good idea...

Everyone's spawning in Berezino because the developers - in their infinite wisdom - thought that spawning way up north would be a good idea...

Maybe the Devs were tired of the death match you people are so fond of in cherno and electro so they switched it up so other parts of the map are being used. What's the sense of having a map this size if no one leaves those 2 cities?

The problem is that they just moved the DM to Berezino so nothing has really changed. It's an alpha, why not open up map-wide random spawns? Let's at least try it out for a while!

So instead they created deathmatch in Berezino?

 

Removing all military loot from the coast will force people north. Scrap balota etc and wow. Such game.

It doesn't matter where they put the spawns.  CoD kiddies will pick a place and make it there DM area.

I don't mind PvP, KoS without interaction can get annoying but my point was more that I am just sick of spawning in at Berezino, I'd like maybe Zeleno, the Starys and hell, the old bean coast to get some love too.

I don't see why (other than to test out the new areas, as they're adding new cities on an east-west axis from Svetlojarsk towards Lopatino) we shouldn't have spawns all along the coast again.

Even Balota tent camp and airfield is largely unvisited. I've gone there for my military equipment needs for the last month and have ran into exactly two players (one I never saw, only heard their shots as they blasted away at zombies).

Didn't the spawns become more scattered recently? We went to Berezino on a 40 people server and only saw like 4 guys in 2 hours.

I agree that it's a bit inconvenient to have the spawns along a small stretch of the coast, but I'm sure the devs have a good reason to do this. Spawns will change in the future.

I traveled down the coast, South, then West, and I actually did run into people. Note that this was on a hardcore server.

I never played HC until a while ago, took a while to get used to 1st P only, but it's true what they say, once you go HC, you never want to go back :D

In experimental they moved a lot of spawns further north-west, closer to the new city. I haven't been playing stable since experimental went live, so I don't know if the spawns transferred to stable as well. But yes, on experimental Berezino is virtually as dead as it was before "the great spawn move up north".

Just so you know. They moved the spawns up there due to the fact they are building up that area. You've seen the southern parts of the map, there is nothing really new there. In the North East, they are adding a lot of new towns and stuff up there and they want you to spawn close to it, so you can actually explore the new cities.

This pretty much.. By spawning there we are inclined to go to and thus more likely find bugs and glitches in the new areas.

if people arent spawning on south,  dont be suprised that less people are on south. seems basic to me anyway.

saying that i go to cherno and electro, and i still see players there almost every time, its a cool place, so people who know the game generally  wil at least pass through

I guess that is a valid point, the game basically revolves around where you spawn right now, so i guess to test new things smack you there because it's very unlikely you'll leave.

They moved the spawns because they want you to spawn east and travel west to balota/nwaf.  Unfortunately, there's no reason at all to go there unless you've got a hardon for attachments, and even then it's hardly worth the trip.

 

Until there's incentive to travel the map, there will be no reason to leave whatever major town is closest to the spawns.  First it was cherno/elektro, now it's berezino.

 

They should leave spawns alone until:

-The map is done (why the fuck do we have spawns at a town that doesn't even exist yet???)

-Loot tables are balanced/positioned properly (incentive to move, dictates where to put spawns for maximum traffic flow across the map)

-base building shit get's actualized (who knows how this will affect spawns.  do you want people spawning right on your base? I think that would be stupid, even if they are unarmed)

 

And probably a myriad of other things.  Spawning locations are an issue of game balance.  So why are they fucking with it now?

It could be that part of the server load testing requires having the 30-40 players ALL concentrated in an area, such as Berez and NEAF. Maybe this is just a server load testing. I don't remember them ever saying we want people to spawn east and travel west to Balota.

It's because of all the homicidal fresh spawns these days :) 

 

In all honesty though, I don't know how many times lately I've been wandering around looking for supplies with only an axe at best and I've been accosted by completely unarmed fresh spawns who sprint like maniacs toward me, stop dead a few feet away in a fashion that defies physics, then raise their fists and circle around me like ali looking for the K.O... I mean it ends 9 times out of 10 with their corpse at my feet having buried an axe into their skull, but I'm always perturbed while I get my breath back as to why they took the line they did lol...

risk/reward levels
