What's the gun you like the most?

Hi there,

 

 

I've been playing DayZ for a couple of hundred hours, and I've always seen people trying to get the M4A1 or Mosin. I'm wondering if anyone uses a different weapon as their primary. Personally, I don't have a favourite, I just pick up what my squad needs e.g. we don't have a sniper so I pick up the Mosin. An irrational side of me really wants to use the sporter 22, as it's quiet and you can spam the trigger as the recoil is so small. So yeah, enough of my thoughts, what's your favourite?

For me, style, looks and "feeling" are wayyy more important than pure stats.

I'm quite surprised how popular the shotgun is, I thought everyone dropped it as soon as they got an SKS or something

I love my M4. That gun with the proper magpul attatchments will destroy the snipers overwatching airfields. I like it also for the ability of just being able to easily reload 40 bullets and supress and hold the front doors of buildings while my friends are up top sniping out.

How is it in a firefight?

SKS : reasonably accurate at close range and fast follow up shots if needed.

i prefer the m4, i just wish they would fix the ridiculous dispersion and put it where it would really be in comparison to the rest of the rifles in the game.

Sporter .22 when I'm in the survival mood but the SKS for bandit hunting, good for throwing 10 rounds at him/them, watching them panic while reloading then having them.

AKM is, hands down, the king of midrange combat.

 

Plus, it looks fucking awesome.
