List and description of new craftables in EXP

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

So I have found the following so far

 - Rope + Animal pelt = Leather Bag

 - Rope + Fishing hook + Ashwood stick = Fishing rod

To make a fire pit -

Cut down a tree, get the fire wood, if you dont have sticks already drag your axe on the fire wood and you get the option to chop it into sticks. Once you have a stick drag your rags onto the stick to craft a fire pit. Once that is done place the fire wood onto the fire pit by dragging it there. Place matches in hand and ignite fire. The rain will put your matches out so be careful.

I found you can cook lots of things in the fire, you just drag animal meat into it and it slowly turns red but It never cooked, when I ate it I got sick and needed charcoal tabs. Not sure how to get the meat to cooked or even if its possible

You could also cook your beans in there.

Can anyone confirm that you can use the cooking pot / pan to cook now, and if you can how?

Apparently you can upgrade the fire pit to a furnace? Anyone know how?

Gas stove + cannister + Pan can be used to cook too, but not sure how it works (The pan turns red but didn't try cooking anything)

I have a feeling the "upgrading your fire pit to a fireplace" thing is bugged , seems everyone I've talked to can't figure out how many stones to add ... But good thread idea I hope everyone comes here with their crafting finds !

Crafting is/will b3 an awesome addition, but the devs need to explain what can be crafted and how to craft it.

I know discovering this is part of the fun but we all have different minds and would do things differently if presented with the same problem.

basic things like 'cut and cook meat' or 'use matches on fireplace, are simple enough, but more complex construction needs instructions.

I Want DIY melee weapon upgrades, baseball bat with nails, yes please :)

How many slots does the leather bag have o: ? Also tried adding a stick to it or something to possibly upgrade it much like the courier bag? It'd be so awesome if you could upgrade it *U*

Very nice thread! Please guys post more of your findings and maybe provide some pictures of your creation (ingame ones).

I so wished that duct tape could be used to modify weapon to attach flashlight, but Devs said that it would require 1 extra model for each such weapon. I mean yes, it is extra work, but details are one the things that make games great!

I haven't tried it as I don't play experimental but

Put eight stones to upgrade fireplace. Drag new stones onto existing one.

Anyone been able to actually get meat to cook?

Its takes a while but I've seen it done.

Takes the same amount of time as a Steak IRL

That's not new, the previous experimental (which I presume is now the stable) allowed you to put the pot on a gas stove and it would become hot. The problem is you can't put anything into the pot.

You can just right click and "Splits into thirds" - no axe required.

I heard in a YT vid you need 8 stones.

... or to attach magazines to each other and make a double mag (like the twin stanags).

Yup, I cooked 8 pieces of deer steak on a fire last night & all of them were perfect, no burns. Basically you need to actually sit there & watch the meat cook & pay attention. Too early & it's raw, too late & it's burnt, both results in being sick. I made a fire in a little shack in the middle of the woods somewhere. Put the meat on the fire, watched it turned red & just paid attention. I'm guessing in the 6-8 minute mark (totally guessing as I didn't pay attention to time) they should be ready. What I did was keep the inventory window open & swapped the steaks around the slots after 5+ minutes until I saw that they were cooked. Once they are cooked the icon changes & you can put it in your inventory. Not sure if you need to move the steaks around to update the status, to show they are cooked, but I did it anyways as that's what seemed to work.

I slightly remember reading them saying the fireplace is bugged, but that it takes 6 or 8 stones to craft one. I am unsure on all of that..

The OP needs to be edited and include all of these things (as well as other things that need adding in):

.45ACP Rounds: Stackable to 40Rnds(rounds)

.357 Rounds: Stackable to 30Rnds

12 Gauge Buckshot/12 Gauge Slug: Stackable to 15Rnds

5.56mm Round: Stackable to 30Rnds (Unless emptied from 30Rnd STANAG (coupled): 60Rnds or 40Rnd 5.56mm CMAG: 40rnds)

7.62mm Round: Stackable to 20Rnds

9mm Rounds: Stackable to 40Rnds

.22 Rounds: Stackable to 50Rnds

7.62x39mm Round(s): Stackable to 20Rnds

  • Shirtsbandanas and some jackets - when not equipped, they can be turned into rags to make splints (along with wooden sticks), along with the main functionality of serving as an improvised bandage. The quantity acquired depends on the size occupied by the item used to make the rags.
  • Magazines - can remove the rounds of a magazine or fill them.
  • Alkaline Battery 9V - can be combined with a FlashlightWeapon FlashlightHeadtorchWalkieTalkie or a Defibrillator to be used. It Can also be combined with the M68 CompM2 Optics and RV1 RDS Optics although this currently has no purpose due to this feature not being implemented yet and the optics shine normally.
  • Canned goods (See consumables) - can be opened with a Can Opener. Can also be done with sharp objects such as a kitchen knife, screw driver, wrench, fireaxe, etc., resulting in spilling some of the contents of the can.
  • Gas canisters - can be combined with a Portable Gas Lamp to create a large, mobile light source or a Portable Gas Stove which, once set on ground, Cooking Pot may be placed on.
  • Wooden Splint - Used to fix broken legs, can be crafted with wooden sticks and Rags.
  • Map - Pieces of maps can be combined together to form a bigger, or complete, map. (ex: North with South, East with West. West and North will not combine together)
  • Ash Wood Stick + Rope = Improvised Bow or Fishing Rod
  • Fishing Hook + Worms + Fishing Rod = Fully Functioning Fishing Rod (able to catch fish at ponds)
  • Rags + Sticks = Fireplace Kit
  • Fireplace Kit + Firewood = Working Fire Kit
  • Fireplace + Matches = Fire
  • Rope + Burlap Sack = Improvised Courier Bag
  • Improvised Courier Bag + Wooden Sticks = Improvised Backpack
