AS-50 has way less recoil.

Less Recoil

Use both AS50 & M107 mags

Has a better zoom (and seems slightly more steady)

Makes less noise

Zeroing maxed at 1,600m (M107 1,200m)

Looks better

A lot more rare, therefor more awesome

Having used both and currently using the AS50, in my opinion, I prefer the AS50.

Well, being able to use m107 mags definately seals it I thought they were different ammo and figured the as50 ones would only drop at crash sites

thanks for the info guys, never really played with the as-50 in arma 2

as50 is also more accurate

they need to add a zoom for the scope though' date=' cant see anyone at 1600

The AS50 has a zoom. It just doesn't work with your right mouse button like the M107. That is why I prefer to use the M107. Zooming with the AS50 is a pain in the ass when trying to engage multiple moving targets at range.

Recoil shouldn't be a problem, it's a 1HK gun.

AS50 of course. Twice more accurate, has almost no recoil, less visible, makes WAY less noise for players, has discrete zoom so you won't zoom slowly when holding your breath (a massive annoyance for me). And it's lighter than M107, there's no inertia when turning around with it.

How do you zoom it?

Numpad +/- by default. Take a look at controls in options bro, there are many interesting things.

OP you sound like a guy who has all this shit right in front of him... Tell me' date=' where u duping? ;)

Duping items does not create things you don't have, it only makes a copy of what you already have.

AS50 without a doubt.

The zeroing on the AS50 goes up to 1.600m, when the zeroing on the M107 goes up to 1.200m only. There's not much difference between them, I've tried both of them and I didn't see that much difference, only the zeroing and that's about it I guess.

Personally prefer the M107, even though the A550 is less recoil-y. I've had about 30 kills in 3 days or so with my M107.

Now that I know you can zoom in the A550, though, I'll definitely take that over the M107 if I'm given the opportunity.

Our two sniper just got their hand on the AS-50 for each and its way better then the m107. Firing the m107 sound like a Tank shooting at you and the as-50 sounds like a pistol.

You could also rebind your hold breath key. I've removed hold breath from my mb2.

as-50 has a less distinctive sounds then m107 when an m107 fires you know you need to GTFO of the area in a hurry i like the controlled zoom of the m107 more then the as50 plus i doubt any of you shoot people at 1600 meters thats a 2 second bullet flight plus most servers you can only see to maybe 1200-1400 meters on a good day

I have a question about the as50/m107 and vehicles. On the wiki it says it takes two shots to the engine block to disable vehicles. Is that accurate? Or do most vehicles go down in a single shot, while some of the more heavy duty ones take two shots?

There was a guy doing circles on an airfield in a pickup earlier but I didn't wanna give away my position by shooting and only getting one hit before he got behind cover/out of sight.

For the future: clicking on a magazine in inventory says what guns can use it in the bottom left.
