Feedback about shootgun. Another frustrating episode

Another news from today.

 

 

Another prove of the efficency of the long barrel shotgun on short range:

 

 

6 shoots to a guy without cover, wich i was shooting to avenge my teammate. ....2 shoots at 20 metres....4 shoots at 10 metres.

 

Still alive.

 

 

Hitbox problems? invisible pellets?

No he wasn't cheating, i'm sure about that...off course as any other noobish he had an M4 and he won the fight. But i'm tremendously angry that 6 shoots to a guy without cover on close range didn't kill the target!

 

I'm angry....tremendously angry.

 

But instead of flaming i've put my feedback and i hope you are going to vote it. Because these fights are completely ruining the game and i'm such bored about these M4....not because the M4 is OP! But because the other weapons "Must" be fixed.

 

You can't add more weapons if you don't balance the existing one first!!

If you had used slugs he would have died much faster at that range. The shotgun is for large spray patterns and best used for hunting small game or people indoors..

Doesn't work properly even indoors...trust me....I've tested out this weapon on any kind of guys everyyyytime that now i realize a water gun is more effective. Maibe a sporter 22 aswell!

A shotgun should be fairly accurate out to 150 meters, depending on the gauge. What's described there is very worring.

This game is so based on chance it isn't even funny.

 

Plenty of times I've loaded people up with shotty. They live to fight another day. Seen teammates eat it and come out with a broken leg at best. I've been shot up by M4 and still walked away. Hell, one day as a fresh-spawn, I ate 4 - 5 shots of SKS and about 40 yards. Ran away and patched myself up.

 

It's just who has lady luck on their side.

A shotgun should definitely be pretty lethal under 60m with buckshot ammo.

 

I haven't had much experience with the shotgun since it's damage got nerfed, but I have been shot at once from ~1-2m and i survived with a fracture and medium "damage". Could have been just dumb luck with only very few pellets hitting me, but together with the other reports of "useless shotgun" it starts to form a bigger picture.

Me and my teammate we tryed both versions...he runs with mosin and sawed off for indoors....me Double Barrel as a main gun

 

2 days ago i've put both the barrells into the stomach of a military guy and shoot both sheels, right that enough to make blow out the beans on his stomach from lunch....he survived and killed me

I use the Sawn-off Shootgun as my secondary with my SKS, it is by far one of the best if not THE BEST for clearing buildings such as apartments and police depts.

 

I typically prefer it over the pistols unless I am trying to be "Stealthy" and in that case I use the FNX.

Pellets should be a lot more deadly than that, its double-ought buck, not rocksalt. The max you are going to want to try and fight with a shotgun at is probably 100 yards (~90 meters) irl, and even then its considered fairly effective. I hope shotguns get a big overhaul once more start making their way in. 6 shells on a guy witihin 30 meters is pretty absurd, unless you were hitting him in the arms and legs with 1 pellet or so each time, lol.

I mentioned in another thread but I run the shotgun nearly exclusively.  It's definitely wonky, the spread is pretty fucked up now and whether you hit people or not even at close range is really dependent on luck any more.  Damage is pretty random.  My experience is I usually either out right kill some one, or the majority of my pellets magically make an outline of people 10m away.

 

I recommend 30m or less in SA at the moment, the less the better.

As to this, slugs aren't in yet, at least not on stable.  Did they add them to experimental?  They were in before shotguns were in, then taken out.  As far as I know you can't load the few still hanging around.

 

In the mod, pellets were pretty much better than slugs at any range.  You could shoot people with pellets up to a couple hundred meters, and as long as some connected you were either going to make them bleed or highly likely you'd break some legs.  Up close, each pellet did 2000 dmg so you can imagine how quickly that added up if you got a lot of pellets on target, conversely a slug did 4500, so short of a headshot you weren't likely to kill anyone even with both shots.  The double barrel in the mod was actually pretty rad for those reasons, as long as you were using pellets.  The semi auto shotguns were even better obviously, but there were no style points to be had there =P

 

I'm curious as to how slugs are going to work out in the SA, I can see them actually being good this time around.  Carrying both will probably be ideal, slugs to make those ranged shots and pellets to decimate dudes close up.

I don't trust any word to those I've killed a guys on close range and bla bla...all excuses to watch your business instead of a constructive idea. My mate used the sawn off version, me aswell and nobody has died close to 1 feet  with both shoots. All your thoughts are fantasy!

 

 

Hell no! I don't want to have new weapons, if first of all those are in the game have to be fixed

Hey guys, I play this game for quite a long time now and tested every weapon and the shotgun is not useless. 

It's actually designed as it should be, effective in very close range. Don't know if you mistaken the shotgun with a rifle, it sprays a lot, but in 1-5 metres it kills in one-shots.

 

I tried to get my body back when spawning in the near of the last firefight, found a shotgun and 3 ammunition in a pianobuilding on the way and I thought it's a lost action, but I got both bandits lurking for me in the prison killed. Just leaned to the side, got a glance at them oneshotted one and on the same way the other one. They ARE effective, used in the right way.

The shotgun should not only be effective at 1-5 meters. It should be very deadly up to 60 meters. And even beyond this range it should still be able to kill or wound people.

 

But there have also ben a lot of reports by people who where shot or did shoot others on very close ranges like <10 meters and survived or failed to kill their target.

This is pretty odd and given the amounts of reports they might have a point.

What business are you talking about?? This is not making any sense.

Please go easy with the unsubstantiated accusations and the report button.

 

There might be a reason people experience things different from how you do, calling them liars aren't going to help getting this worked out.
