Although these are pretty ubber rare now a days i guess. It fired the .45 ACP rounds that quite a few of our guns in DAYZ use today.

 

Not sure how rare the actual ACP American version would be though in Russia.

The game isn't set in Russia....*Sigh*.....But maybe NAPA rebels got a hold of a tommy gun from the blackmarket or something...I know that Takistan righta cross the border had lee enfields so ya never know

The PPSh-41 should probably in a museum and the Tommy gun is nowhere to be found in Russia. And yes I know it's not Russia, but it borders Russia to the north and the area itself is a lot like Russia, so I'll call it Russia.

Well i brought up the Tommy because it fires the ACP rounds used in the pistols. Would be nice to see the ammunition used for more than just the pistols currently.

I believe the Vz. 61 Skorpion has .45 versions (though the majority is .32) and a few CZ firearms as well. Both are Czech-made, and Chernarus is based off the Czech Republic

Maybe not a Tommy gun - but a Beretta CX4 in .45 might be possible. I know they distribute to the Czech Republic - and I own one, so that would be cool. Kind of an obscure gun but would be nice in close quarters and for my own nostalgia anyway. :)

Well the PPSH is Russian maybe some one got ahold of one as a functional collectors piece? I just think there needs to be some Functional weapons besides the pistols that us the .45 ACP.

Try not to think of it as GTA but just more variety of weapons to survive with per say. The more variety the less board you will get trying to hunt down the rare weapons latter on when the game is more complete.

Well you can bet the guns will be toned down allot but the more variety they have when they do get toned down in spawn pools the better i say. So pump out as many cool guns as you can than tone them down in spawn rate once beta/release pops up.

 

You forgot there also making ANOTHER more grittier 1911 variant as well lol.

But the legality of owenership in a poor fictional soviet satellite state is questionable? And there are rebels? All the more reason for them to exist! They'd value them more than americans.

 

The thompson would be iffy but not unbelievable. This really all depends on where Chernarus is located. In certain middle eastern countries, the "tee-bore" aka the .30 cal Tokarev round is really all the rage. There guns like the Ppsh and the PPS-42, and even the PPD-40 would make perfect sense. (They're not legal to own there anymore, and even semi-auto versions were recently banned in some places, which mimic the shape and function of these old smgs). The caliber is liked, there are rebels, they want long-arms, it all pans out. "This belongs in a museum blah blah blah. If the gun still works as intended and you have ammo for it, you're going to use it.

Yeah examples like this are good. Im not good with explaining things in long drawn out sentence structures as to why they should be in the game. We are playing a game after all I think part of the fun is not JUST surviving but the variety in gun power and melee we find as well when we go out into the fictional world of Dayz. So as many others have said in past threads i dont think we should be dismissing every gun because it dosn't 100% fit the region.
