Top 5 things you want in DayZ

Firstly, be creative in your list of the top five things you want, dont post i want cars, post what sort of cars you want, dont just post storage post i want persistent bags, or civillian tents or small stashes.

Heres my list:

1. Improved zombies, e.g no wall glitching, less damage to items on your person, more of them, improved dynamic spawning, and hordes and all bugs fixed

2. An advanced diet and medical system including thongs like vitamin defficiency related diseases such as scurvy and beong able to damage vital organs.

3. Barricading of buildings as well as loot spawning in containers and loot placed in containers being persistent

4. In world spraypainting system and sign writing

5. Extensive modding and mapping support through the steamworkshop.

Hunting. Proper hunting, animals that dart away if you make to much noise or move to quickly.

 

Fireplaces that smoke nicely when first started so hey can be spotted at a distance, and the ability to get them going in a house fireplace. Rain also killing fire.

 

Grass view distance extended by default and not an option to turn off say under 600 metres. It doesn't have to be mega detailed past your immediate area as is current, but some kind of grass coverage further than we have.

 

Tape, i wish that damn duct tape would work and we could apply it to a ton of stuff. Tape your water bottle to your helmet, tape an extra mag to your leg, seal your containers so water can't get in, tape four torches together..whatever you can think off, tape will work.

 

A small amount of sea life, fishing.

 

Flares and more options for cool shit at night, loved the mod flares. Tape lanterns to poles and light up those streets ;)

 

Probably not my top five, just a quick five :)

Hunting/fishing so we don't have to go to cities anymore.

 

Flares for night time looting, but only after the gamma abuse is stopped.

 

Mutilating players or killing them in sadistic ways like hanging them. Would love to see some creativeness on the bandit's side to emulate the awful part of humans that'll emerge in an apocalypse, and by that I don't mean breaking players' legs and leaving them. Imagine seeing the path of destruction from a sadistic bandit group

 

Tents please.

1) road flares / glo-sticks / torches / tac lights / campfires / other illumination.   The red road flare at night is sort of an iconic DayZ image IMHO.

 

2) cannibalism / trophy collecting - If you're gonna PvP, you mind as well make a necklace of ears and noses.

 

3) spraypaint in colors other than green and black - it's hard to be the Crimson Payday Avenger if you can't paint your Mosin red.  Also the ability to leave tags / messages as warnings or taunts to other players.

 

4) working radios (if you have batteries) - Rocket mentioned these a long time ago, but I like the idea of having multi-channel hand-helds that basically act like global side-chat for whoever is on that channel.  Plus maybe put fixed radios at the ATC towers, police and fire stations, Green Mountain and the shacks near radio towers.  Kind of gives them more of a purpose  Personally, I liked the side-chat in the Mod.  Sort of like listening to a shortwave radio half full of lunatics where you could get a sense of what was going on around Cherno.

 

5)  Spawns from Kamenka to Krasnostav.  Spawning on the beach is another iconic DayZ moment so fuck that inland shit.  But mind as well use the entire coast.

Please. No fishing, as I get WOW flashbacks just thinking about it.

I want to see the description on notes ro be different if it has been written, such as hand-written note or something.

Not sure about diseases and such. Most toons last hours of gameplay, not weeks. Hard to contract scurvy if you die every 12 hrs of play.

What I really want? Maybe some objectives. Otherwise it's just hunt gear and hunt people.

4. Persistent backpacks (only backpacks, no tents), which are bound to the Character(backpacks spawn and de-spawn with the player)

5. Crafting sticks, fire-wood, ashwood-stick, etc.

Sorry but my list is 6

1. Fix the zombies (they shouldn't clip walls. They shouldn't "auto aggro" upon respawn. etc etc)

2. Make silencers actually work.

3. Some sort of vehicle system

4. Break the map in to spawn regions. If you die in region 1, you respawn somewhere in region 1. (this would promote playing in all areas of the map instead of the "hot zones" being in the area of current spawn locations). These regions would ideally be somewhere near 4000 meters x 4000 meters.

5. Base building / fortification

6. (This one is probably the most important) Stop adding crap into the game if you can't fix your current problems

Using ad hominem argument is never a good idea, did I do those things you mentioned or not - doesn't change a thing about dayz devs incompetence. Sure, they mean well and they try hard, but they just aren't good at what they do. Except their art department maybe.

Oh, it's much more than five...

 

1. A more robust wilderness

 

2. Better zombies

 

3. Decreased significance of graphics settings (i.e. ATOC, gamma, etc.)

 

4. Probably barricading, I suppose

 

5. Survival mechanics (i.e. hunting, cooking [and therefore, rarer looted foot items], fishing, growing crops, etc.)

 

As to weapons, many subcategories...

 

AR-10/M110/SR-25/HK417/L129A1, Mk 17, and some kinda' FAL

 

- Supported shooting

- Robust attachment system via rare looted rail systems

More lighting options to smoothen up night gameplay.

Realistic damage from melee weapons.

Camps.

Hunting.

More numerous and dangerous zombies that aren't challenging because of bugs.

I'm going to give the devs the benefit of the doubt and assume that things like FPS optimization, zombie assortment/behavior, and other technical shortcomings will be taken care of by/during beta, so I'll focus on endgame elements rather than technical doo-daddery.

 

1) Compelling hunting/fishing simulation - This SHOULD happen given they've absorbed a studio that made those kinds of games exclusively.

2) Societal roles - doctors, farmers, security force, mechanics/pilots/drivers, hunters/gatherers, traders, etc.

3) Barricading/Annexing of towns/cities 

4) Planting/Harvesting of crops/vegetables

5) Animal husbandry (pig/sheep/goat farming)

  1. Fix the desync/lag. I'm tired of killing someone, then going unconscious five seconds later

Implement a proper system to penalize server hoppers/ghosters. We don't want to wait 5+ minutes to play a game

Fix the game so that it uses 100% of our hardware. I can run this game just as well on my laptop as my gaming rig

Fix the walls so that we can't peek through them. Game-breaking bug hasn't been fixed since launch

Fix the walls so that we can't crawl through them

Fix .pbo exploiting

Fix gamma exploiting

Improve BattlEye so that cheaters are actually, y'know, penalized

Remove 75% of the military loot in the game. There are plenty of ways to defend yourself in Chernarus+ without filling every military camp full of (supposedly rare) loot

Remove third person perspective. It's stupid. If you disagree, you're stupid

Increase peripheral vision in first person perspective

Make me want to keep Post-Processing on. Currently it ruins the binoculars, long range scope, and iron sights. Why would I leave this on? And when I turn it off, I lose the ability to tell how healthy I am
