cejota14 130 Posted April 28, 2014 I found a crossbow, is amazingly good...silent and reliable. The ammo ammount is fine for me (although I need to carry a lot of quivers) but I'm pretty sure we'll be able to recover some of the bolts fired :) Anyway, I'm here to ask which attachments can it have? I'm really curious, but I'm at wotk... any help pls?
nettles 396 Posted April 28, 2014 (edited) They'll probably give us some sort of red-dot sight. There really isn't much more you can do to a crossbow. I'm surprised that the PU scope can't be used with it, although it makes sense, since that sight system was supposedly made for WWII era firearms. Unless the CoD kiddies beg for explosive bolts and grenade launcher under-barrel attachments. Which will be stupid. I might be able to subscribe to fire bolts as long as the fire spreads and destroys structures and plants. Edited April 28, 2014 by nettles
odin_lowe 3686 Posted April 28, 2014 (edited) The ACOG fits on the Crossbow, but after some testing, it doesn't seem to be "centered" so I usually use the iron sights for now. Edit: Screenshots added. Edited April 28, 2014 by Odin Lowe
hombrecz 832 Posted April 28, 2014 Just be aware, that crossbow is currently more powerfull, then it should be, and will be toned down.
Dr.Burd 107 Posted April 28, 2014 All M4 scopes currently fit on the crossbow. The backup sights and the carryhandle optics work as well. All the scopes except for the m68 are currently broken, though. They fire straight up in the air, or the trajectory fails. Sometime's it's even backfired on me, and knocked me unconscious/killed me. Basically, if you use it when it doesn't want you to use it, it will tell you in a rather harsh way.
over9000nukez 199 Posted April 28, 2014 Just be aware, that crossbow is currently more powerfull, then it should be, and will be toned down.i dont know how they would simulate the slow kind of bleeding out thing, other then making it so when your hit with a bolt you get twice the bleeding, and lose your running speed or something
GunnyITA 107 Posted April 28, 2014 On these days on youtube there are videos that shows clearly people getting shot on the chest 2 times from a distance of 50 metres....and still alive! Plus today i shoot 2 times at 0,05 metres to a guy with sawed off shotgun....still alive after 2 shots, broken legs -.- Double Barrel and crossbow damage must be absolutely fixed

liquidsnake 275 Posted April 28, 2014 Crossbow bolts should cause internal bleeding, which need extra medical attention. Kind of like what happens when you're sick ingame. Maybe antibiotics should stop the health loss.

liquidsnake 275 Posted April 28, 2014 Not really. The guns are less powerful than they should be, that's the problem.OHK bolts is hardly what they should be. They should kill over time, not instantly. It should be extremely hard to treat a bolt to the guts (same for 5.56 and 7.62), but an instant kill is a bit too much. I'd say OHKO would do, to simulate the extreme pain which renders the recipient conscious but unable to fight back in any way.
hombrecz 832 Posted April 28, 2014 Not really. The guns are less powerful than they should be, that's the problem. I based this info on patch log. Devs themselves stated, that Crossbow does higher dmg then desired.I have yet to shoot somebody with it, once I find one.
DropBearChick 1217 Posted April 28, 2014 Empty those quivers and drop them, they only carry five and take two slots, the stack carries the same and only takes one slot.

gibonez 3633 Posted April 28, 2014 i dont know how they would simulate the slow kind of bleeding out thing, other then making it so when your hit with a bolt you get twice the bleeding, and lose your running speed or something They will make you bleed with the bolt on but not be able to stop bleeding unless you remove the bolt. So imagine being hit in a town and then having to decide if you want to risk removing the bolt to bandage or keep pushing on while bleeding.

nettles 396 Posted April 29, 2014 If you're in a bad spot while you're impaled by a bolt, you should have the option to 'secure' the bolt with rags or a bandage. That would stop it from doing extra damage and slow bleeding until you could get somewhere where you can treat the wound. If you're impaled by something small like a bolt or an arrow, that's how you treat it temporarily. Keep it stationary until you can have medical staff have a look at it. Personally I think it'd be kind of cool to run around with a bolt tied down in the right side of your chest or something.
MarchmelloMan 16 Posted April 29, 2014 (edited) Just be aware, that crossbow is currently more powerfull, then it should be, and will be toned down.I found a couple of crossbows but actually never wanted to keep one, cause I actually don't know why. It takes forever to reload, a mosin with LRS is by far more precise and does at least similar dmg, and compared to a M4, the crossbow just sucks in low-middle range if your enemy knows how to strafe. Its only advantage is that it is quite silent.. but most enemies are dead anyway if you can open fire first and your enemy has to locate the shooter (no matter if loud or silent shooting). So it is actually only good for roleplaying.. in serious fights I wouldnt know a reason to choose it../edit: im talking of pvp not against zeds Edited April 29, 2014 by MarchmelloMan

I mean crossbow should not be the ultimate weapon :-). It should be rather silent, arrows/bolts should be mostly retrievable, the damage should be okish or atleast the bleeding effect should be it's advantage. As folks said before, would be nice if it took some time to pull out the arrow and treat the wound and that bleeding should be noticeable. Now I wonder how the bow will do :-).
