I Was Thinking Of Some Interesting House Mechanics

What about making more of the churches and crypts actually open areas you can go into? Its kind of frustrating you cant enter them at the moment. I mean i know its like "who the hell cares? why would anyone ever want to go in one?" Well maybe there is loot in them or you just need to escape the elements for a little while. Also i was thinking dynamic events where you have to unlock doors via pick or breaching them with a fire axe would be a pretty cool concept. Remember the axe is a tool still not just a weapon for running around slaughtering ppl with. Would be especially relevant for high loot areas like barracks and stuff like that. Im sure not every single house door would be unlocked in real life.

 

Also lets say you decide to break into said room, or crypt or church, or whatever. Maybe it was locked for a reason? Maybe they were trying to keep infected from getting out. So yeah this place has some nice things in it maybe but you gotta fight like 5 or more infected just to get to inside the area you decided to break into or flee from lol.

 

Idk id love to see this once they nail down zombies clipping through walls and seeing you from over 5 miles away lol.

I'd love to see this.. Crowbar could be used to pry a door open, Axe to smash/cut it down.

Could add a massive amount of diversity to game play, No more speed looting towns.

What crypts?

Because there are a few scattered around the maps if you haven't noticed. And it irritates me that you cant go inside of them to hide if you have to. lol

Yeah exactly my thoughts. There would have to be a kind of stealth and finesse into doing these kinds of things not just barging in like a Viking stealing all the loot than leaving. If you don't have the right tools you wont be able to access the rooms to get the high end stuff. Its that simple.

 

There could be methods to like blowing open doors with custom explosives however that would add big risk like alerting all the zombies around the area to your presence.

Yes pls, making the weapons actually something different than killing is welcomed. Some tools should be required to get in barracks so newspawns cant just get bank

There should definitely be more accessible churches through out the map. I have thought alot about this topic and would like to see a church that could fortify front doors and say you could climb the bell tower from inside and have access to the roof.. and with imaginary crafted(or not) ladder you could help other players gain access to the roof from ground for safety into church.

Yeah i mean there are quite a few town churches you cant get to that iv visited and i think some of those buildings are crypts but they NEED to be opened up for new possible options. Also zeds traped in churches and sometimes crypts could be a nice spooky factor as well.

 

Its been that way with allot of them since the mod. I think its time for a change.

I agree with the OP to some extent, I would like to see some nice things like, breaking doors open with specific tools, but I also believe it would have to be implement in the correct manner and be smooth. Remember the Dev Team's idea, is to keep the game as least scripted as possible. I hope that a lot of doors will become accessible in the future as the game develops, but certain doors which are not accessible will have reasons why they are inaccessible and just maybe some of these doors could be made accessible. I am still unsure on how some of these features could be implemented with server resets. Imagine if you follow a guy into a room which they has busted open, and your game for whatever reason resets, you then join another server in which the door has not been opened and unfortunately your are lacking the tools to bust out, what now? If creative suggestions can construct a way around these problems and solve them in a clean a creative way, then I support it!

Well thats where server favorites come into play. To be honest allot of the locked doors that contain high loot should maybe have a 50 percent chance of spawning zeds to in order to prevent server hoppers from just getting easy access and than moving to the next server with loot in the room lol.

Well, at least it wouldn't limit people that can't open a place with tool X aren't just instantly screwed. Would also give gloves some actual use, aesthetics aside, can help you against the glass and in breaking the window with your fists!

Yeah I agree but I would still feel sorry for the unfortunate guy, who just spawned into a room of rotting-infected!  :lol:

 

At the particular moment, I am unsure on how zombies spawn, but I believe they haven't implemented direct spawning in specific buildings - which I would love to see! I like the idea, but I am still unsure on the server changing or reset. Unfortunately for myself, my internet speed is currently playing up, which means every now and them the ping on a server sky rockets and I am forced to change servers which means I would probably be that unfortunate guy, who just spawned into the room of rotting-infected!  :o  

 

Still I love the idea! :beans:

Yeah, lets hope they take some of it into consideration. We dont want the game to become to static.

Finally someone who can actually come up with original ideas to add to and diversify PvE/Looting/Etc without having to include a way to punish PvP. Right here guys. perfect example of a way to ADD to the game without punishing other play styles. All for it!

I just think it will make looting less static and more interesting too if they use some of this stuff.
