Honestly, there should only be 6 or so civilian vehicles.

Going with the "alternate brand name" schtick, For Civilian vehicles, I'd want:

 

Bicycle

Moped

Jetski "Chetsy"
Small Boat

Pickup: "Fjord Z150 Truck"
SUV: "Hand-Over"

Vanilla did not have any Armed vehicles.

In 1.8.1 they were going to be implemented. However, 1.8.1 is still being worked on..

    No. Military aircraft will result in me, and probably many others, quitting DayZ. To have a bunch of trolls getting planes and carpet bombing Berezino/Elektro would be the worst thing ever. Also those helicopters with mounted Machine guns? Are you kidding me??? No. Your other ideas are good, but most of the military vehicles shouldn't get in.

They probably won't add military aircraft armed and loaded. I wouldn't want that. Maybe when the mods are out people will make a military mod for the stand alone. Weird that it started from a zombie apocalypse mod for a military simulator, and will become a military simulator mod for a zombie apocalypse game... :huh:   :lol:

I feel like more is less in this case and I'd enjoy having a limited set of civilian vehicles that we can repair and modify in many ways a whole lot more enjoyable than having like... a multi-million dollar main battle tank we cannot repair, supply or even drive.

 

Because it's like... you introduce armored vehicles, you logically need a way to fight them. Then we introduce RPGs, anti-tank guns and rifles and it starts to go downhill very very fast.

I also think that 70% of them do not belong, I support on a lot of civilian vehicles but no exotic ones.

I can also support on a military helicopter, the huey from the mod wasn't that bad in my opinion, in terms of it being 'OP'

It was decently fast and had machine guns but it did help that people in them were usually bad shots.

While I have no screenies, the first time my buddy saw a Huey he shot it down with the AT-4.

Thing is, I want tanks, jets, apcs in Standalone. The region was a major warzone a few years before (ARMA II)

 

But I want them as props, not as actual vehicles you can drive. Rows of them at a military base that aren't heaps of scrap metal (all the military vehicles are rust buckets right now; since when do zombies have armor piercing limbs?!)

Technicals with PKMs or DShKs are not overpowered, considering how hard it would be to maintain them and get enough ammunition to support them. Tanks & APCs don't fit simply for the amount of experience that you would need to use one.

Helicopters with gunner positions using PKMs are not really that overpowered, for the same reasons as above. Better ballistic mechanics will make them incredibly ineffective to anyone who isn't a skilled shot, anyway.

So every vehicle currently in Arma 2. Brilliant. Good job.

 

An assortment of civilian vehicles that you can modify by attaching guns/ armour plates is good enough for me. Hell, throw in a vodnik or a humvee or even a military transport helicopter to keep in line with the story's Arma 2 lineage... but Apaches? Main Battle Tanks? This is the zombie apocalypse, not World War 3.
