We call them street chapel (german: Straßenkapelle). These are small chapels for wandering people. They are fairly common in middle south europe.

That's actually the Master's TARDIS. There's one in the new-ish village in the north-west.

 

As far as I can tell they aren't functional yet, but once they patch them up you'll be able to travel to any time period and relative dimension in space.

 

Watch out for a tall, dishevelled man with a big scarf - he'll try to meddle with things.

I am Antiochian Orthodox myself which is basically the same as the in game churches. This is literally a church, like this one here but vastly different architecture..

Funny you bring this up as this annoys me as well. No idea where they got school from.

 

If one loads up A2OA/3D Editor/Jon-C5 Editor the official name is A_Office01. I always took the 'A' to mean Administration and call that building the Admin Building. Not far off, but not exact. Office is the correct name.

 

If anyone is interested, Post #2 by DropBearChick nailed it on the head. They are called Small Orthodox Church if you GIS them. There is a famous Russian Orthodox church on King George Island near Russian Bellingshausen Station in Antartica called the Trinity Church which is interesting as there is only three of them in-game.
