SO IN THE FIRT 2 HOURS MY LEG JUST BROKE ON ITS OWN !!! im now in the middle of the woods trying to find a town and ive been crawling for 5 hours REAL TIME now its making me regret buying this game!! ive even tryed drowning myself to respawn but it just says "YOU ARE DEAD" and never respawnes you have to exit it then when you go back on you end up in the same place in the water after a min you die! neverending cycle! such a shame as this could have been a great game! it is in alpha testing but still it shouldn't have a glitch this big. its not ready for public testing yet!!! and despite paying £60 i can't get any support as my account is "protected" ????

I've payed 23.99€, how in the world did you managed to pay 60 pounds?

 

Try to restart the game if you get the message "You are dead" after you respawn. I had this bug a couple of times and restarting the game actually helped me. Same is with broken legs, thank whoever I had this bug a long time ago now but it was pretty much the same - I was running on on the road and my legs are suddenly broken. 

 

Developers are telling you to NOT to buy the game but you haven't listened to them. EARLY-ACCESS-ALPHA is only for players who are ready to face fatal bugs and ridiculous glitches.

When it says you are dead try waiting a while see if automatically starts a freshspawn for 30 secs or so rather than exiting.which server are you playing on? becareful when running around, rule of thumb avoid any drops waist high or above as that usually equals broken leg

i got the package with support :/ lol i want to play but i restart the get it puts me back in the same place with the same broken leg so i was stuck under water for 2 hours LOL :(

I've heard certain rocks are bugged and cause you break your legs or fly off and die. Also stairs and ladders can be pretty risky, always walk on stairs.

Now when you die or go unconscious you should be able to press escape and then select "respawn." Sometimes the respawn freezes for me too, but exiting the server and rejoining fixes it. The bug where broken legs were fixed by logging out has been fixed, so no luck there.

Also, next time you break your legs or need any kind of medical help check the pinned topic on this forum. They can help you and will provide you with any information you need on the medical system or precautions to take.

Hello,

 

this is a known issue and a fix is on its way.

There are several workarounds you can use while we work on resolving 

this issue.

 

You can use the few seconds you have before the "You are dead" screen 

appears to slowly move towards the coast each time, until you are 

finally out of the water.

 

Because the core of the issue is the fact that your character is 

actually not dead (despite the "You are dead" screen) you can simply 

wait until your character dies of starvation. Once you are actually 

dead, the respawn button will become available again.

 

Another workaround reported by the community is the following:

 

1) Rename your character and restart the game

2) Log in to a server

3) When you get the "You are dead" or "You are unconscious" screen, open 

the pause menu and respawn

4) The timer will start counting down from 30 seconds

5) During this 30 second countdown quickly switch servers

 

You can always change the beta preference in Steam to play on a 

different database. The stable and experimental versions of the game 

each use a different database, therefore if you are experiencing this 

issue on stable, you will be able to play on experimental.

 

To change the beta preferences, please do the following:

 

1. Right-click DayZ in the Steam library

2. Click properties

3. Switch to the "Betas" tab

4. Change the preference

5. Close the window

6. Wait for DayZ to update

 

We realize that this problem is very frustrating and I assure you that 

we are working hard on a solution that will free the characters of all 

players affected by it.
