Retexture Long Range Scope with Mildots

Recommended Posts

Please. It helps alot and this guess game of 'guess where the mildot is' makes no sense. I can't think of 1 reason for weaponary manufacturers to not put any mildots in marksmen's scope. Even if the scope was invented 100 years ago (which I'm probably sure 100 years ago the long range scope was invented). The whole 'no, don't kos! putting mildots will increase kos' is stupid. I don't kos, but letting us guess where to mildot is at on my scope is stupid.

And a simple hunting scope like this:

http://www.midwayusa.com/product/129037/bushnell-elite-3200-tactical-rifle-scope-10x-40mm-mil-dot-reticle-matte

Is set with mildots and the scope is functional up to 600m and not 800m.

So come on, Carlos Hathcock sure had mildots.

The long range scope is just an overlayed texture so the mil dots would not work properly unless you never moved the FoV slider from the default position.

Play with default FoV then? If you don't wanna play with the default FoV that's your problem really.. that's how it worked with the DMR in DayZ Mod. You change your FoV, mildots are inaccurate. Deal with it.

That's actually wrong. Unless you do something wrong it was still accurate.

No, they wouldn't work anyway.

Well you're wrong then.

In the mod, you can zero your target's range with a DMR scope by calculating -

target height * 1000 \ mildots = Target Range

Target Height:

Standing 1.8

Crouching 0.9

Proning 0.4

Mildots are very important.

No, this isn not Arma 4 with zombies, its DayZ.

Its a survival sim, not a be a douche and kill people just because I can. You want to kill others with a mildot scope, go play Arma 3

Correct if I'm wrong, but the LRS is supposed to be a hunter scope rather than a military one, is it not? Do hunter scopes have mildots?

The LRS is supposed to be a hunter scope rather than a military one.

So the LRS should be attachable to what?

A hunting rifle?

Seems like the Mosin is a hunting rifle, but the B95 not...

Hunter scopes have mildots.

I've been looking at some hunting forums (they actually exist lol!)

They do, I looked at their scopes they attach to Mosins, because Mosin is being used a lot as a hunting rifle.

They say that, when they hunt they use their scope to measure distance and shoot their animal-target with it. They don't use x8 (?) scope but x6 scope most of the times.

Also,

If anyone here is up to say "Adding mildots will increase KoS",

then f*ck off!

Eh, DMR yuk.

I was referring to how the zoom is currently changed by FOV.

This suggestion is about mildots in the Long Range Scope not about the zoom.

And when zooming the mildots' value of distance will be changed ofcourse.

One word:  Realism.

Need I say more?

How about we remove the Long range scope and instead make the PU scope work as a sniper scope, because, you know, the PU scope is a sniper scope.
