Backpacks and clothes + other containers should spawn with a chance of loot.

Backpacks and clothes should spawn sometimes with some loot. Like a magazine in a military backpack. Some ammo in an ammo can. T-shirts and soda in a backpack. Battery, matches, cigarette lighter in pockets. Stuff like that.
 
I don't know how much complexity and strain this will add to the servers, the contents could be created the first time someone looks inside. Same thing for zombie loot and world containers. Thoughts?

I can see this working out a little easyier for fresh spawns, putting back packs in locations like some of the dirt paths and camp sites would make it cool and having some miltery back packs where all the tents are laid out in the airfield etc...ummm im actually up for that :) tin of beans on the way

This should be only in cases where it would be logical. For instance, backpacks spawning in shops should be pristine and empty, just like you'd find if you went into a shop today to buy a backpack (Devs take note - add in a camping shop model and make camping loot spawn there?).

 

This needs to go into suggestions thread too.

I found a backpack once...had a truck in it with a M60 and tons of ammo and of course a red headband...i put it on immediately and looked like this.

Good idea...but usually backpacks are stored with nothing inside unless you are a doomsday prepper, then maybe you will find a pack full of mags.

I don't think anybody is suggesting that we find bags filled with machine guns and grenades; rather they'd have the chance to spawn fresh and rotten fruit, junk items like paper and tape, tinned food, basic medical supplies, low-tier melee and projectile weapons, things like that.

yeah let some things spawn, but no weapons or amunition... in hunter backpacks maybe a scope or some stuff, but no weapons, you don't carry a pistol in your backpack. and in civil backpacks only civil stuff, then it is k!

But that's how a majority of all players feel...i want a backpack with a pistol, a "sniper" rifle, a tent, camo clothing and looooooooots of ammo so i can go pvp immediately, fresh food isn't necessary i just need rotten tomatoes to force feed some bambi. Mentioning a military pack with mags in it above all things says it all.

Mabe it could spawn with random items that are 10% of the space the bag has.

 

The rarer the item, the ... you know what I mean?!?

 

You should find used stuff generaly everywhere where you can't buy it.

 

Makes up for an elevated idea:

The worse the condition of the bag, the more items it has in. The MORE it has been used before the outbreak, the higher the chance its original owner.put stuff in it.

 

And you should have the chance of losing random items, if your bag is badly damaged. Smaller items should be lost more easily!

I currently do little things to help new players like dropping backpacks with a gun and full mag in the spawn areas for them to find but what i saw from the rocket presentation last week stuff like this is coming and being developed by the new studio they have aquired.

Once we have "persistant objects", this issue will sort itself out.  I'm sure there will be plenty of bags from dead players filled with some loot laying around lots of different servers.

Its not about finding more loot, its about having a more believable world.
