Put down case - tree ate it.

I've lost a clip and now a protective case when putting it on the ground by a tree.  The clip was then up on a branch I could not loot from.  The case disappeared. Is this common?  What do you do when you have to put stuff on the ground to ensure it is reachable and doesn't disappear or go out of reach?

Iv dropped a view supplies before in a barracks for a player and they dissapered. we both looked at each other to say 'OK...that's strange' after looking around the barracks we couldn't find them until i went outside and they were near the front door...was a strange one but never had anything completely disappear on me just yet

It's a common bug. Been like this since hte mod though... Don't drop items near pine trees, bushes, or anywhere near something that might "eat" your items...  ;)

 

 

(I had a protective case that was eaten by a tree just like you... Since then, never had anything else getting stolen like that by the environment)

You have never played the mod, have you? Countless trees and rocks ate tents, stashes and even entire vehicles. Sometimes even men. I still hear myself screaming "NOOOOOooooo!", because some poor Soul was once eaten by a tree.

if it happens in a bush you can chop it down with your axe and then you can access it, not so much with trees..

I've lost things I've placed on the floor in both the piano house and the grocery store before.  I think they ended up inaccessible under ground, since I had the same thing happen on the second floor of the jail building and found the item on the first floor.  Haven't lost anything to tree yet, but I'm not looking to try.  Thanks for the heads up about them  ;)

Had that happen yesterday in the piano house on second floor with a mosin and finally gave up looking for it. After some looting I decided to check the house again and there was the mosin right where I dropped it. I know sometimes it takes a little while for dropped items to show up but this took at least 5 minutes before it showed again, I also thought it dropped through the floor in an inaccessible space.
