Food Hard Too Find?

I feel as if it's too hard to find food. I often find myself dying of hunger more then anything. I know to look in houses for food, but it just doesn't spawn enough. Starvation is my #1 cause of death. I think it would improve the game much more if food was more common. Also, sometimes I find food, but I can't open it even with a can opener. I'm only able to inspect it. It doesn't say it's empty or anything, I just can't do anything with it.

I havent died on starvation even once. Theres plenty of food if you hit houses after restart.

Food spawns like wildfire, just gotta know where to look. People accredit the airfields for military loot... But I find tons of beans there, too! :D

At NEAF I usually find weapons, Soda like no other, and an occasional can of food that I for some reason can't open

Some food can be eaten without a can opener. Like rice, powdered milk, and cereal. The rest needs a sharp object to open.

i have died on stravation only twice and i have played DayZ 100 hours i think food spawns are just fine

A lot of buildings don't spawn loot, or only spawn loot in one room. The more you play the more you'll catch on to what buildings are more likely to spawn food.

 

Finding the first tin of beans can be a challenge but once you start finding food you'll start finding a lot more - or at least that's my experience.

 

Also, as a general rule, never eat rotten fruit. More trouble than it's worth.

 

 

In regards to not being able to open tins; might be down to the tin or the tin opener being ruined, or it might be down to a bug or just lag.

Just as now I would suggest to reduce food.

 

For the futur :

+ Fix incoming, more spawn loot points= more food?

+ Hunting/fishing (quite more food).

Rule no 1 to all newbies. DO NOT look for food on coast, when you spawn even though you are hungry you will have enough time to run inland stumble on a town and find so much food. The further inland you go the more you find, remember if you find items like knives, bayonets or hacksaws, take them because they can also open canned food. Once you have spare food then look for weapons in barracks.

Food atm is hard to find in my opinion. Personally, you should spawn with a little bit of food and water instead of just a flash light (reason: I don't know the backstory of your character, but lets say he was came to Chernarus for a camping trip and what not... he would've brought some food, water, and other supplies with him, right?)

 

So it should either be (in my opinion):

• Spawn With some food and water, and keep these resources rare throughout the map
• Spawn without food and water, but make it easier to find.

Yep this is a problem, loot doesn't respawn until the server restarts.

sure people work around it. But the mechanic is broken. It's a problem.

I really don't understand how people can be complaining about the food situation, it is far too ABUNDANT and as soon as you have the healthy status you really don't require a lot after that. As a fresh spawn you can run from the coast to NWAF without eating, so it is not like you need to eat the instant you spawn.

 

I don't know how many times this has to be said but GET OFF THE COAST!
