Do bandits really exist on DayZ Standalone?

Recommended Posts

lol you dont have to explain a situation to me , im just saying everyone on these forums say they are the perfect player and never shot or kill people ,seems like people are saying one thing and I cant disagree with these people because I have no proof

Or it could just be they're more articulate than the typical "Waarrgh! I can shooting!!1one!" numbskulls?

encountered some basic bandits {the shoot on sight kind that wants your last tin of beans} just came of tonight and had to kill 2 people taking blood from a fresh spawn who was handcuffed {blood bandits} also found a few guys suppressed by the usual 'sniper bandit' basically looking over elektro just killing fresh spawns whn the hit town...I havent seen any big groups of bandits yet i.e. 5 to 6 at a time...I hope i will see something like that soon...will make a interesting game even more intersting for me XD

lol sure you do , you cant honestly say that or you literally haven't play standalone much

guy says he doesn't shoot on sight and you tell him he does?  Wow, how's it feel to know everything about everyone? I haven't once shot on sight without asking if they are friendly or being shot first.  That's simple fact, I have some 200 hours played and my friends started well before me and play the same way.  Just because you shoot fresh spawns or KoS doesn't mean everyone does.  Don't try to justify yourself by saying "everyone does it" because it's not true.

The term bandit is clearly over used.  When you said you have killed fresh spawns, and didn't say only when they try to punch you to death, that pretty much sealed the deal on you being a bandit IMO.

How would you define a good player?

If most bandits were still just 'catch and release' robbers, people would probably put up with it still and play along.

Unfortunately, from what I've seen in the game, they yell for you to get down on the ground... and then they kill you anyway.

If you don't wanna get robbed or killed don't be a wuss and actually fight back. Or don't get caught in the first place.

i don't think good or bad players can yet exist in DayZ, since there's really not much to do in it. when i find guns and ammo, i goddamn want to use them. i will definetly not waste them on those poor zombies, since it would be stupid to alarm more zombies, wich will make you waste even more bullets. they are just plain easier with an axe.

therefor, i need to seek thrills by hunting other players. call me a douche if you want, but the reality is that that's how this game works at the moment. when they add other goals wich i can pursue as a geared player (basebuilding, etc.) i will do it. preferably something that requires player interaction, so that bullets-to-face wouldn't always be your best choice to approach situations.

... ??

That's basically my point. People don't even put up with "banditry" anymore by complying with demands. People now just fight back/ run because they don't trust they won't be killed anyway.

More read, less weed... "Weedz" ;)

Personally I hate the term 'bandit'. Mainly because people use it to describe ANYONE who shoots at them.

When I say "bandit" I mean it in the context of: bandits hold people up, take some gear, and let their victims go. Most bandits in the early days of Dayz weren't killers, they were robbers. People sort of trusted them to honor their word and release their victims after the robbery. So, when being robbed, a lot of people complied since there was less chance of death in complying than running or fighting back.

"Bandits" now (not all, but increasingly so,)  *act* like they are going to just hold-up someone, but they instead will torture and/or kill their victims. The term "bandit" has come to mean robber and/or killer.

Therefore, people don't trust "bandits" to simply rob them. The chance of surviving encounters with "bandits" has now shifted in the favor of running/ fighting back. So that's what people do now: run or fight back.

So in short, we agree...but you still managed to troll. Kudos, I think you have found your superpower :)

but what im saying is everyone had diffrent meanings to the term and anyone can be called a "bandit" and its wrong people labeling people the way they play
