Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)

Recommended Posts

To put it another way. If they made it so you couldnt kill other people, the infamous pve servers that for some weird reason a few wants. Than players will no longer be your biggest threat.

They can make zombies extremely difficult, way more than now.. Would you still hand your extra gun to some random person if they said they will help you kill the zombies?

Sure but they could still run off with my gun and leave me to die to. XD

They could also just take it and pop you in the back a few times while you are shooting zombies =p

This is to be expected. Some people are freaking out over nothing.

Take a look at zombie movies look at the old Gorge Romero zombie classics and you will then see zombies are just background noise.

Zombies in the true zombie movies are more of a pressure that makes the people commit acts of atrocities and lose their humanity.

The real danger in dayz will and should be humans and their lack of humanity.

I think, that zombies in SA should be atleast on the same level of threat as in mod.

In mod, if you behaved dumb aka shooting Lee Enfield near town, you could get swarmed.

I agree, that once you get better at playing, zombies were not uber threat, but you still had to take them into account.

Like you wanted to snipe that dude, but you knew it would attract 10 zombies, so maybe you had to wait for better opportunity.

I  think that with SA, they have opportunity to take zombies step further and make them better than in mod.

Now they atleast do not slow down inside buildings that much, that is a step in right direction.

We need them to be more numerous, but also their senses adjusted so that you can sneak past them.

When you mention Romero's movies, I remember two remakes, Dawn of the Dead and Crazies, and in these, the zombies / infected were pretty much BIG threat !

TL;DR  Zombies in DayZ will never be the same threat as players, but they still should pose real threat to certain degree as not to be completely ignored.

Not to mention i get tired of looking at the same damn 2 model infected types in different clothing all the damn time. You would think they have a few more model types they have been working on a little here and there. I want to start seeing variety damnit!

If zombies stay the same they are now then they may as well call this Arma 3 with less to do....

I agree zombies should not be THE threat but they need to increase their numbers and retool them so they are A threat....

Currently they are a joke unless your a noob

I don't see a problem tbh.

People don't really want a hardcore survival. The best survival mod for Arma2 (DayZed) died because lack of popularity. Sure it wasn't heavily advertised, but it was available on DayzCommander so any real fan of survival could easily find it.

People just like to say how badly they want the survival whenever somebody kills them, but the moment survival gets real they quit, because they'd rather be able to find gun after 5 mins of looting and focus on finding new hats.

Sorry yeah my fault, i was thinking it was probably going to be misread because how I had it...

The first line

"To put it another way, if they made it so you couldnt kill other people, the infamous pve servers that for some weird reason a few wants. Than players will no longer be your biggest threat."

Was the only part I meant as far as on the topic of pve servers

The second line

"They can make zombies extremely difficult, way more than now.. Would you still hand your extra gun to some random person if they said they will help you kill the zombies?"

was meant as in the servers types we have now.

Zombies will never be a threat...... until you become exhausted, fatigued, dehydrated, sick, have to take a shit(maybe??), but until those problems exist in game or when they do exist if you don't stay on top of keeping your character healthy, yes, zombies will never be a threat.  Not to mention, weapons jamming, rare ammo(hard to find ammo) etc.  The main threat is always going to be that guy you want to help out.

I'm noticing more hoppers, and slightly greater numbers maybe. Can't speak to respawn rate though.

I was in Zelenogorsk and decided to take out the one zombie with my AK (Mosin on my back) rather than dropping it and axing him...

Then three come around the corner, then another 3, they kept coming, burnt through my 75 round mag and another 30... they never stopped until I switched back to the Axe. They ruined my Black Hi Cap Vest... never again...

should be like 10-20 min respawn, not 20 seconds and i wouldn't even mind if they added a lot more zombies at the beginning and just not have them respawn- but maybe that's just me.

It's pretty annoying, as it's meant to be. I was sitting in a tree and got freaked out by footsteps about 3 times in the space of 10 minutes.

I was in vybor when a zombie attacked me, i tried to axe him but failed and got hit afew times. Then another zombie came and started hitting me as well while i was still trying to axe the first one. I had no choice to take out my mosin and shoot them. After that another 3 came that i shot, then another 2, then 1. I killed them all and went into a house to heal because I was loosing alot of blood. Then i went out and had to shoot another 2.

Was in a normal server, and yeah, spawn rate has made it harder and more challenging to decide between using your weapon in a city and not.  Shot one and 5 came running a minute later.  I've been forcing myself to use a melee weapon more in towns, since the patch.  So far its working out quite well.

This is good, getting that "don't fire your weapon in town u nab!" aspect back a bit. Melee should be bread and butter weapon in towns to keep a low profile, firing a gun only in an emergency.....and being ready to bolt from the horde of zombies when ya do :)

Zombies should be harder so people would cooperate and not get bored so fast and start killing each other. That would make this game a true zombie survival game and not jut a FPS with survival aspect. Now you can simply punch a zombie in the face and run away. No threat at all. People would conserve ammunition for the real threat, work together and not kill each other because every man would be too valuable and too good of an asset for your own survival. That's just my opinion.

So after a good hefty session on the .47 patch, playing on hardcore, I'll have to say..

GREAT improvements to Zombie behavior overall. They're actually using doors now!  :D

Melee hit registration does seem to be a bit off, resulting in melee being more difficult, but this is good. Just a bit of fine-tuning & There were times where it was NECESSARY to use my gun to defend myself from zombies. Which to me, is a HUGE step in the right direction. I had both a .45 & an M4. Both of which have ammo that is not easy to come by at the moment. It got to the point where I said to myself "Ok, my ammo is depleting, I need to choose my shots wisely".

With the latest zombie update, DayZ is starting to feel more like a GAME, & not like a clunky joyride.

With zombies being the theme of this game (I know we can sometimes forget that), things are just becoming more fluid & polished.

Please, DayZ community, don't complain that zombies are becoming too hard whether it be the game's current state & it's minimal optimization, your skill, or any other temporary conditions.

Let's appreciate the improvements & the good things we're starting to see.

FACEPALM! - iiick - PEOPLE will never cooperate in dayz.

You can make zombies quiet as beasts - it does not change the situation

Lost all my gear last night because one zombie punched me and I bled out. I had to sprint around Novy frantically while shooting at a billion zombies who kept randomly appearing behind me the second I stopped to pick up items. It was AWESOME. I love the new zombies.

Also, I found a bug which causes invisible zombies that can't be killed, but I'm not sure how I did it. I shot the zed and she appeared to be dead, but apparently she wasn't and I had to disconnect because I couldn't see it or kill it.

Why not? Are they too stupid or something? Too young? Too aggressive? Why not?

Zombies still wall/fence glitch, not as much but they do.

Zombies can now land a hit on you from distances of 20 metres + even when you are accelerating away from them and the gap between you increases they still manage to land hits, even through solid structures.

Zombies are virtually impossible to hit with melee weapons.

Zombies have X-ray vision, no amount of solid obstacles between you and them will cause them to lose sight of you, even hillsides and huge buildings fail to break Line of sight.

Please devs, it's time to catch up with the rest of the gaming industry and get the melee system to work correctly, create some kind of Line of Sight functionality, some sensible collision detection would be nice and implement a stealth system, by all means make zombies formidable but give us the tools to counter them.
