DayZ Arma 2 or DayZ Arma 3? What should I buy?

Recommended Posts

NOTE: I will get DayZ Standalone anyway.

NOTE 2: I DO know the Arma 3 Mod is called 'Zombies'.

I just would like to know, which one should I get, and also, answer these questions please:

1. Does Arma 3 DayZ have helicopters, or same controls as Arma 2 DayZ?

2. Does it have features like night vision, Ghillie Suit, etc.? Does it have most of the features like in Arma 2 DayZ anyway?

3. What else should I know about it?

You should buy ArmA 2 or 3 standalone tbh...

I would expect someone to ask for the game features that make the game DayZ and not what makes it a dressup like a bush find a DMR and go fly a helo game...

Um, what?

Anyway I said I'm getting SA anyway, I'll probably get both Arma 2 AND 3 Mods then, too.

Hello there

There is no DAYZ for A3.

There are some unofficial "conversions" or A3 mission types based on DAYZ but they are nothing to do with us nor do we endorse them.

Arma 3 it's too expensive right now. In my opinion you should get Arma3 if you are an Arma fan and plan to play all the campaigns, maps, coop and single player missions. Do not buy Arma3 for some unofficial modifications, not worth it.

Any way "Zombies* for Arma3 does suck, Breaking point it's a better choice (3 map, more stable servers, Z are not so bad).

2017 is on the way and it looks really good.

In my opinion, you should opt for Arma 2, it's still a good game (bugs and engine limitations apart) and have a lot of awesome mods (all Dayz mod modifications, wasteland, ecc ecc).

I love DayzSA but I still playing more Dayz mod, just because it's more complete for now and you have more stuff to do, maps to try, awesome servers and groups.

By playing Dayzmod you can also better understand how DAYZSA is a step forward and how the Dev team is doing an amazing job in the SA.

You should think if you want to buy Arma 2 or Arma 3. Arma 2 is great and Arma 3 will be great when all the mods come out. Arma 3 basically can have all the same that Arma 2 has plus more. It's up to people.

Arma 3 Zeus is a very fresh game mod that I really recommend to try out.

Breaking Point mod (similar to DayZ) is available for Arma III and is pretty good.  However, I think SA once launch-ready will far surpass it in content depth and technical achievement.

SA and BP are in roughly the same development state currently, but DayZ has a better foundation and a much more substantial, paid development team.  The BP crew does it for fun and donations.  Basically, for my own part, I've been bouncing back-and-forth between SA, BP, The Dead Linger, and will add in DayZ EPOCH soon so I can fill dead time between major SA content updates.

DayZ mods on Arma 3 are just getting started but will probably eventually be way better than Arma 2 ones.

get arma 3!

the engine and graphics are much better and stable and the modding community is growing. I will see a bunch of people leaving dayz sa as soon as there is a big zombie mod on arma 3
