Agreed. Getting blind drunk would be the first thing i'd do when faced with the horror of an zombie apocalypse, and seeing as the Russian word for water is pronounced voda, I imagine there would be a lot of vodka sloshing about it chernarus... 

And on a more serious note, it would actually add a lot to the medical system (its both a disinfectant and painkiller) and would lead us one step closer to the Molotov!

Vodka is the most consumed distilled liquor in the U.S.

If they added in vodka to the game, I'm sure Dean wouldn't just have it there to get drunk from, it would be a multi-purpose item, like many things in DayZ.

I was waiting to hear that..

 

actually ingesting Vodka is a known medical practice to help induce vomiting. This would help save a player from poisoning and would come with the drawback of being "off" for a period of time with blurry vision. :) Thats just one actual in game purpose it could have..

start fire in rain

add to recipe to make vodka sauce pasta ;)

So lets say, if the game took place in a fictional US state, I created a topic, where I suggested becoming fat, from eating hamburgers, no american would get offended? Highly doubt that.

That is not an equal analogy. At all. You would be inherently offensive from the start by going there, and actually are being more so than a mere mention of the relation of Vodka and Eastern European countries consumption of it. 

 

It should not offend you over the mention of a generalization. Its okay that it does, but it really should not. Its not racism we are talking about, or prejudice. Its just saying that Vodka is a typical generalization of a hard liquor representation in Eastern Europe. Budweiser would be a typical generalization of beer in America. Same analogy.. not alcohol vs fat people.

And about saying that russians like vodka

1.vodka was used in siberia to keep warm (nobody drank to death)

2.Large groups of russians eg cossacks, who almost dont drink alcohol at all.

Rest is pure fiction, made up by the west.

Last time Estonia was in second place and Czech first.

 

I would like such things added into game, would be fun spending lonely nights sitting next to bonfire and taking a can of beer, having hangover in the morning. Fun as hell.
