Rick1633 136 Posted March 24, 2014 Well the patch fucked up the anti combat log system. Just a few minutes ago, my buddies and I were on regular and at the Factory. One of my friends went down to get a drink from under the bridge. 2 fuckers were hiding under a bridge and decided to shoot my friend while he was drinking water and killed him. All they had were Mosin's. What these fuckers didn't know is that myself and my friend Tyler were nearby and we were fully geared with Scoped M4's with plenty of ammo. I engaged both of them while my friend came closer to help out. I killed one, the other was standing up and looking towards me for a while. I laid low but watched him. He was standing up the whole time and as I was waiting for my friend to flank him..... Poof, the god damn mother fucker combat logged without sitting down. He never fucking sat down like you are supposed to when you leave. Why the fuck did the patch break the anti-combat logging system and are they aware of it? Irish. 4886 Posted March 24, 2014 LOL.. while he was standing, he was logging out. You do not have to be sitting down..
Rick1633 136 Posted March 24, 2014 LOL.. while he was standing, he was logging out. You do not have to be sitting down.. Ummmmm, until tonight. Every time you log out, I thought your body sits down after you try to log out. I thought the whole point of that was to really show you logged out to try and encourage people to not log out. When did bodies stop sitting down when they log out?

charliepow 100 Posted March 24, 2014 I think sometimes the sitting down animation doesn't play. When my friends log out they usually sit down, then stand back up, then sit back down again so there's evidence of animation problems. Have you tried watching one of your friends log out to confirm that it's a bug?
Rick1633 136 Posted March 24, 2014 Maybe what I thought is old news? Was it a long time ago that your body sits down? You have to agree that would really help prevent combat logging because it shows the enemy when you are vulnerable. Why the fuck would they not want this if they hate combat logging so much?Your character sits down when you log off.Thank you. So I was right. The fucking patch broke the previously good working anti combat measures. Do you guys believe this might just be a one time glitch? We should report this in case the patch completely broke it.I think sometimes the sitting down animation doesn't play. When my friends log out they usually sit down, then stand back up, then sit back down again so there's evidence of animation problems. Have you tried watching one of your friends log out to confirm that it's a bug?Good idea. when people do the duplicating exploit, they can watch. so that would be a way to check. That's why I'm afraid either the patch fucked it up, or people know how to exploit the logging out?

Rick1633 136 Posted March 24, 2014 He might have killed his process or his internet died or somethingSo are you saying there is an exploit of being able to leave server without your character displaying the "sitting down due to log out" animation? I would have easily killed him once I saw him try to log out. This type of exploit is game breaking to people here. Everyone and their mother here had complete hard-ons for stopping combat logging. But combat logging is easy if you down expose your self by the animation.
Irish. 4886 Posted March 24, 2014 He might have killed his process or his internet died or somethingWhen you "pull the plug" in various ways.. you will most likely not sit down.. you will stand in place, or glitch up and down. Sometimes you just outright vanish. When you click exit, and combat log.. you almost always will sit down, unless you stand first. Then you more than likely will stay standing from what I have seen in videos testing it.. I wish I could link them easily

Anyway I have more of a problem with people who need crutches in this game like hiding until they see people are sitting down so they can rush them when they get into a situation where they actually have a chance of dying after ambush killing one of them instead of having a firefight than I do someone who's internet died. Sounds like your own fault for not killing a guy who stood still for 2 minutes straight because you were to afraid he might fire back after knowing there were people near. Crazy_Spider 235 Posted March 24, 2014 I believe that if you completely exit your game, like from Task Manager, without clicking exit, your character just disappears, instead of appearing to log out.
Phoenix777 43 Posted March 24, 2014 I crash a lot and a friend told me that I was continuing to run in place one time I crashed. We were running together at the time. So it probably isn't an instant log out for crashes/ en process I crash a lot and a friend told me that I was continuing to run in place one time I crashed. We were running together at the time. I fully engaged both of them in the beginning, killed one. Then while my friend was closing in on the location to flank, I was assessing the current situation. Its called tactics. The whole point of my thread is Im pissed he was able to leave the fight. I fully expected to re engage him. I never was planning on only killing him if he combat logged. I was in the moment of the game. The fucking pussy is him for using an exploit to combat log safely.

No I know that might be a way to do it. Why didnt they fix this yet if everyone hates combat loggers so much?
Crazy_Spider 235 Posted March 24, 2014 Thank you. No I know that might be a way to do it. Why didnt they fix this yet if everyone hates combat loggers so much? I don't mind combat loggers. They give me a good laugh when I see them, as I wonder how they have fun playing the game. Then I go on my merry way, with no worries to ruin my day.

Something isn't adding up when you're story is "so there are these 2 guys so I run up and KoS one and the other just stands there afk for 2 minutes so I just stare at him hoping I'll develop laser vision and kill him" Edited March 24, 2014 by Weedz
omgwtfbbq (DayZ) 1069 Posted March 24, 2014 What I take from this is that you were watching him from around a corner, because if you were looking at him, you would have shot him. Great job, exploiter. Not to say other's don't do it, but you did do it.
Rauchsauger 94 Posted March 24, 2014 @OPThe game has other issues that need adressing. You should have just shot him. Not to say other's don't do it, but you did do it. You exploit if you you use a game mechanic in a way it is not intended...So being able to check a corner in 3pp is just the way it is and has always been that way in almost all 3pp games ever. So please quit your whining and play hardcore.
thelonewarrior 886 Posted March 24, 2014 (edited) I can confirm the OPs problemMet two friendly guys yesterday and one kept getting disconnectedAs soon as the message said on the bottom right that he was kicked by battleye he immeiedtly disappearedHappened multiple timesAlthough one and only one of the times he was disconnected did his body sit downHe was mod conversation some of those times as well Edited March 24, 2014 by Regulator Lone Warrior

Stop defending the developers if you want a fix for this.

Stop defending the developers if you want a fix for this. There is no need for a fix since you can simply play hardcore if you don't want someone stalking you with 3pp.You just want your >>exploit<< third person view tailored to your personal needs Seeing your char from above is exploiting FIX IT!!!!!111oneoneoneelevenone Edited March 24, 2014 by Rauchsauger
gungza 29 Posted March 24, 2014 You don't always sit down when you log out, sometimes the char even switches between prone and standing up. The way you can see if someone is logging out is if they keep facing the same direction, without mouse input the char just faces the same direction all the time. If the guy was in game he would be more animated while trying to see where you are.
