thequantum 52 Posted March 22, 2014 Today I logged into Svetlo on Experimental and the town was unlooted. Knowing how bone dry experimental servers are for loot, I proceeded to loot the whole town. I found two mosins, an SKS, and a sportster, and hid all but one in some bushes, solely so others couldn't get them and use them against me. I felt guilty doing it, but if someone picks up that other mosin, they're going to compete with me for finding ammo, or they're going to shoot me in the head with it. Also, if no one picks it up, they are visibly less of a danger to me since I can easily see they don't have a gun (whether they have ammo for it or not). I also do the same at military bases. Irish. 4886 Posted March 22, 2014 The longest you have to worry about any of those things is 4 hours.. and taking the time to hide weapons leaves you open to being shot while doing. Firstly you don't want to spent too much time in big cities, as it is simply leaving you in a high traffic area the majority of the time. While Scelto may not get as much traffic as Electro, it still.attracts quite a few people.Secondly, once the server resets, your work would have been pointless. The guns would be back and unless your going to ever time than it is pointless.Thirdly, since it is experimental, it could be a possibility people would go to towns to find guns to test things out. In this regard, it makes your actions pretty sad.Also you do this at military bases? Unless your the only one on a server, you could get shot by a server hopper, random who came to the base or many other situations could arise.Overall a pretty pointless and sad move. You put yourself in more danger doing this then less danger, especially if someone finds the bush. It us also possible you will miss a gun again, makes your actions pointless. By far the worst part of this is the way you screw others over at of fear. Hiding the guns while tactical doesn't help you in the long term. How are you suppose to participate in fire fights etc if you keep hiding guns? While these should be avoided at ALL costs, you will get into one eventually, and it us best you have practice even if you die.Just as a side note, you shouldn't be scared to die,as eventually you will regardless of how careful you are. So don't go over board trying to do strategic stuff, it won't matter in the end when you break your legs on stairs or something. ld-airgrafix 403 Posted March 22, 2014 Since the update they have added different firearms, but forgot to reduce what they already have, resulting in chernaurus resembling Oakland. escobert 112 Posted March 22, 2014 anyone who wastes their time hiding things on people when servers will just reset in a couple hours just blows my mind. Why care so much about dying? I mean I cared when I fist started playing but, cmon there's no way your guy is gonna survive till the actual release when everything is in and it's worth trying to stay alive. Villain 16 Posted March 23, 2014 No I don't tend to hide weapons but I have done it once or twice...What I do when I find an M4 though is take all the component parts off and drop them in fields or woods..I always pick up scopes, weapon components and ammo and drop those in fields and woods also if I don't need those myself..Have also started to pick up all medical supplies because everyone needs them a lot more since 0.42...Villain... rybo 171 Posted March 23, 2014 Yes, everyone in my group does. We normally stash them all in one place and leave a note at one of the weapon spawns telling where a (EPD Cache) is. We once had 7 rifles, 3 hand guns, ammo, clothes, food, backpack, etc... If anyone has ever found one I'm sure they lost there mind. I figure one day I'll see a Reddit post about it lolz.. The game isn't here for your sole enjoyment this is a very early testing phase. This applies quadrupley or more for the experimental server. The reason you die is because you have no practice, because you spent all your time hiding guns. You will die in firefights yes, but practice will help you survive some of them at least. Also I would have no problem if you didn't do this on experimental. The experimental servers are for testing much more than regular, so if you wanna play go on regular servers. I wouldn't mind dying to someone who was starving to death, this person had two choices, ask or shoot. If he shot, it wouldn't be so bad, because he would have been searching frantically for a can of food, therefore exposing himself to danger like myself, but I don't like when I get killed as a fresh spawn, clearly nothing on me anything useful, or get killed by camping bandits.
