gibonez 3633 Posted March 21, 2014 The dayz mod health system with the 12.000 blood even made some less powerful calibres like 5.56mm take a lot more body shots than you and I would be able to take before staying down :P That system was still better than what we have now. HazZarD87 166 Posted March 22, 2014 That system was still better than what we have now.Better than what we have now that damage is dispersed over items and the player takes whats left.. before that it was fine. Double tap from an m4 would down anything.

Double tap from an m4 would down anything. Yup new system is inconsistent. Old 12k or 16k blood system was very predictable, you knew exactly how many bullets to kill or how close someone was to passing out.
KingOfTime 267 Posted March 22, 2014 The Amphibia only takes 3 shots to the body to kill a zombie, and in my experience its one of the best nearly-silent ways to take them out. Good luck finding mags for it though.
Funkmaster Rick 373 Posted March 22, 2014 I think knowing exactly how many bullets it takes to kill someone is a terrible thing. You should never know. Shooting someone should be a risk, even if you're on the roof of a tall building with a sniper-mosin using third-person to magically see things that can't see you. Even if you shoot someone in the calf, the question should be, "Did I hit an artery and he bled out almost immediately, did I just hit meat and now have to track his bleeding ass down, or did whatever he was carrying in his cargo pants completely stop my bullet and he's coming for me right now?" This game will never be able to /completely/ represent real physics nor anatomy. Seeming randomness, however, /will/ help to mimic this part of life. As for the point about nobody using the new weapons, well, they will. You just have to put it there, and someone will use it. At least until they find something better. Which is the whole point, am I right?

Correct Unfortunately many gamers don't like RNG because it leaves things to chance In my opinion that's not a valid concern with DayZ, this game is not an eSport It would be nice to have a gun do something like "4000 with 85% chance of + or - 25% and 15% chance of + or - 90%" instead of just "4000" However the current damage "randomness" with bananas and protector cases stopping bullets is bad
Markiee 9 Posted March 23, 2014 Please, tell me more how many .22LR gunshot wound victims you've treated? Because from my experience, you are wrong. It'll penetrate your skull but wont leave an exit wound, it'll bounce around in your head.

Which is the whole point, am I right?Agreed, however right now it is too much unpredictability. When I shoot someone trough the head with a mosin from less than 20m he shouldn't just "wake up" again and continue the fight full function. Maybe he's not clinically dead but he sure as heck wouldnt be fighting back full tilt. Nor is it authentic that a few cans of beans will keep someone from being injured at all by several gunshots. That being said I agree that it shouldn't be "hit him there.. he's dead for sure". It's why we always check pulse when we go and loot, or put an extra one in his head if we're not close. But like I said, right now it can take so many gunshots because someone is carrying stuff around that it's become silly.
Raptor05121 32 Posted March 25, 2014 It'll penetrate your skull but wont leave an exit wound, it'll bounce around in your head. I've been to two self-inflicted .22LR cranial suicide scenes. One of which the bullet fragmented and stopped several inches past the entrance wound (hollowpoints won't "bounce around"). The other did in fact make an entrance and exit wound. Both were fatal (obviously).
tamashii 10 Posted March 25, 2014 Wow, didn't know hollowpoints were in game. Love how people can take something like "it rattles around" and be all like "no it doesnt". Of course a hollowpoint will leave an exit wound... i could put a hollowpoint in a spudgun and it would leave an exit wound... (for those that couldnt tell, they dont make bullets for spudguns)
