irishroy 1347 Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) Maybe a scope for the Crossbow, Ruger, or even the Blaze? :> We've seen a model of the SVD in one of the vids, probably. And the Bow/Crossbow are on the way and really close ;) so the recoil values for some LMGs and SMGs are already there, it seems anyway, good things to come.Found the bikerjacket 1 hour ago :> Edited March 20, 2014 by irishroy

Deathlove 2286 Posted March 20, 2014 but i cant fix dem with sewing kit :<You cant fix allot of things with sewing kits atm. But i think it was already discussed by Rocket or whatever that eventually we could be able to repair everything even ruined items.

Deathlove 2286 Posted March 20, 2014 M249 - a joke? WTF!?!?!?Naw they might eventually put it in. To be honest id be carrying one around but it would depend on how easy it is to find ammo for it.

res 373 Posted March 20, 2014 i don´t like the the idea of the m249 .... Me neither. Not really accurate and quite useless unless it's a man vs man huge clan war. It eats ammo like a beast. Which makes it even worse for a zombie apocalypse.

If you're talking about DayZ, I don't think there'll be large roaming hordes. People's computers struggle with DayZ as it is right now. If you're talking about a zombie apocalypse, maybe, maybe not, they're not that accurate..unless you go close quarters shooting slow dumb zombies with a 200-round belt. Crooked Hauser 258 Posted March 20, 2014 Me neither. Not really accurate and quite useless unless it's a man vs man huge clan war.It eats ammo like a beast.Which makes it even worse for a zombie apocalypse.Meh, I carried one for a couple years before I became a team leader. They're fairly accurate in real life and if you have good trigger control they can be conservative with ammo. That said, there's no way I want them in the game. Too many military weapons.
irishroy 1347 Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) Scope for crossbow has been confirmedBut DAYUM. 12x-Scope.12x for a crossbow. As if there was no "bullet"/-bolt-drop (0.o)X-bow fires @ 100m/s, bow @ 30.. TBH, I dislike the idea of LMGs for the biggest part.Because (for me) it looks, like a PKM is pretty accurate while being prone...It's fully-automatic, too.Same with the M249... (maybe not thaat accurate). So in order to prevent these Rambo-kiddos from ramboing 24/7, ammo should be harder to find, so that every shot counts.(M4-ammo is too easy to find @ the moment, I think, too) Edited March 20, 2014 by irishroy

Katana67 2907 Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) I'll reiterate my firm stance on this matter. They can theoretically include any weapon/attachment, insofar as it is suitably rare and difficult to maintain/live-with (i.e. repairs, rarity of supplementary items like batteries, rarity of ammo, etc). I for one welcome my new LMG overlords. Hopefully they are keeping in mind the proposed "weight" system with regard to LMGs, and I suspect they'll be more cumbersome to handle sans bipod. Likewise, I doubt belt links for most LMGs will be readily available (if they're included, it would be a great way of balancing them). So, with a weapon like the M249 which can take STANAG mags, it'd just be a glorified M4 until you find a belt of ammo. The PKM, yes please. I want GPMGs more than I want traditional LMGs. Loved rolling around with a Mk 48 or M240 in the mod. They ain't that good folks, had a lot of drawbacks. Edited March 20, 2014 by Katana67
eleventhavenue 204 Posted March 20, 2014 I think much of this is just remnants of old stuff...I really don't want a SAW. I don't get why people think that the American forces from harvest red would be able to clean up every single trace of the events in Arma 2, but leave tonnes of american weapons lying around in the Chernarussian barracks. Altough, if we have an encumberance system, I doubt that a LMG would be very useful.I wonder, can the PKM take single rounds and AKM magazines or only belts? makomachine 263 Posted March 20, 2014 LMG's, a fortified location, and the zombie horde - just doesn't get better than that!

The PKM takes 7.62x54R (i.e. the same round fired by the Mosin and the SVD), the AKM uses 7.62x39. So no. Either way, I don't think the PKM has a mag-fed option like the M249. byrgesen 1341 Posted March 20, 2014 Could it just be leftovers from Arma?I think if you dig abit abit around in the configs, you will find alot of leftovers, which arent being used atm, simply because they havent gotten to the point, where they will "clean the code" yet. Anywho, none of knows atm :)
