barricading systems?

Recommended Posts

""In the more distant future we’re already planning for vehicles and barricading systems.""

Is more known about these barricading systems?

I sure hope it's not going to be cookie cutter or replace base building.

This game needs creative features.

tdl approach looks clumsy to me.

I hope Dayz's method will be more user friendly but allow the same freedom.

What I really don't get is why would I barricade myself in a building, IN A TOWN.

I really do not understand the thought process behind this. Why would I make my base in a town so I can get shot much much easier. I really don't get it.

There are buildings out there that would make nice bases if you have the manpower to defend such an obvious target.

But yeah, barricading a house in a town sounds like a measure of last resort.

What if i told you its a pretty town?

how about a shitty town? I could move to tulga and I wouldn't need to barricade or hide my stash backpack's.

If you are expecting some base building system like the one from epoch then I think SA its not your game.. Epoch was good but its building mechanics wouldn't fit in SA imho, too unrealistic

Barricading buildings at least for starters sounds like a fun idea. Not every barricaded house has to be a house per se, right? You might be able to barricade Devil's Castle, the Balota ACT or whatever building in general.

And hey, stay out of Tulga, das MAH Town! The Sheriff has spoken :-P

Looking for Dayz SA Epoch then, because it was the best mod for base building, and now its even better since their last update :)

And I don't see why it could be 'too unrealistic'... you cut trees down, you make them lumber and plywood, you build a shed, a cabin, or whatever you want in real life.. I would love to be able to build shed in a tree.

Also, what is the point to barricade a house if if can't get out of it ? you need a door, a lock to lock etc.. so finally the epoch system is nice appeal, even thought the dead linger sound sexy but complicated

I expect a base building feature that allows me to be creative. I expect it to be fairly realistic. I want a feeling of accomplishment and am willing to work for it, but the feeling of accomplishment should arise from being smart and efficient rather than from grinding the required materials.

It takes a LOT of work to make boards from raw lumber. And why would you waste your time making plywood? You would have to "shred" the lumber, mix it with a glue, then set in a mod to form. You'd probably be better off making a log cabin.

it was an example, I'm not saying that you can create plywood or lumber in dayz like that ! But since its a game, and since you can just stop bleeding from receiving a bullet and get life back after 10 min just eating tuna and drinking pipsi... I'm pretty sure you can create a lumber with a specific tool :)

Not plywood, but lumber definitely.

Just saying, you would get a FAR greater return of "benefit" / work put in if you use whole logs in construction vs.trying to cut logs down into boards.....although rough cut "barn boards" are possible if you have a large enough chainsaw
