The ACOG needs a 2nd optics mode.

The ACOG needs a 2nd optics mode like it used to have... seen below

Agreed as well.

 

Actually the first thing I did when I found an acog was hit the num pad /. I was sadly disappointed.

 

It was functional in A2 as well.

 

I'm sure it'll be added in the future though. I assume.

I think that they should fix magnification issues first. The ACOG and PU are heavily undervalued now because their magnification is ~2 times worse than it should be. And if they do the same thing with the PSO-1 scope when SVD will be implemented...

This issue IMO makes it kinda silly to use mid-range scopes, just because they're closer to the red dot ones currently than to anything magnifying.

You're entitled to that.. But I do not think its silly to be able to use the iron sights and the scope as its intended. Yes, they need to "fix" the magnification, but as far as we know that whole thing could be on purpose from the devs.

 

In any event, its not like in an alpha they need to fix things first. I dont think you understand exactly what an early release alpha is if you want problems fixed before content is added. That is backwards to the entire purpose of what we are doing here..

 

What they are doing right now is exactly what they should be: adding in new content to be tested, and fixing or working on fixing the game breaking bugs that pop up.

Well, this makes sense, can't argue with that. I'm really sorry if my comment looked ignorant. And in it I didn't meant the OP's suggestion, I meant only too low magnification of ACOG and PU, not more, not less. It's not gamebreaking, it's not even an "issue" probably, let's call it inconvenience (and a whole situation with FOV also); I'm totally sure it will be fixed later on and ALPHER etc., but I let it to become too personal (feeling sorry about that).

We had them in the mods and they were grossly OP.. especially with scopes on them ;)

 

You could put about 200 rounds down range, fairly accurately, in less than 30 seconds. But, hey.. Ill take one if they want to add them :D

In the mod everything was realistic no stupid dispersion or magpul parts that magically make the gun more accurate.

Therefore I found all the guns equally op.

A Lee Enfield felt just as powerful in my hands as a m4.

Would like this aswell, but only if they finally remove that crosshair(dot). At the moment it would be a waste of work, no one really needs this as long as a crosshair(1st person) is in the game.

The M16A3 ACOG would outperform the Lee Enfield in almost every situation.

Of course it would but even with the Enfield I felt adequate enough to protect myself.

What he means is that since all guns were realistically accurate, you didn't have to worry that your shots would miss due to the stupid dispersion as you have to in the SA.

Ah okay.. In that case, yes.. All weapons would put shots on target assuming you were aiming properly.

Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous. I've been recording vids lately and looking back at how some of the shots land just doesn't make sense.

I can barely hit trees with the SKS from 100 + meters.

 

It is ridiculous. Even with perfectly aimed shots, your bullets curve randomly and make every gun unreliable.

I agree with Ranadaine that having the proper magnification is more important than functional backup iron sights. Correcting the former is a matter of erasing "0.16" and typing in "0.0623" so I don't know why it hasn't already been done.
