Where are the updates? **crickets chirping**

Recommended Posts

And the fact that the 0.4 version of the game changes absolutely NOTHING.. is frustrating..

Than when i stop and think that they are only working to make the 0.37 patch STABLE? So in other words we have to wait for 0.37 for another month than 0.4 to be stable?? Why they hell are they wasting the time to make TINY little alpha patches stable?? What the hell is that

I just want them to work on bulk content as fast and as sloppily as possible just so we have SOMETHING.. ANYTHING.. Cars, bicycles, small planes, boats.. jesus christ.

Working super hard to make tiny little incremental alpha patches STABLE is basically like.. such a waste of time. Putting dayz and stable in the same sentence is just funny to begin with

Or you can let them do their jobs. Unless you have extensive inside knowledge on big budget game making, I don't think you understand how difficult of a task you're asking.

I feel like early access alphas should come with 2 things.

You should be forced to sign a very extensive disclaimer that is read to you and can't be skipped. You then get auto banned from the forums and locked out of the game until it's finished if you whine about issues that are typical with alphas.

Secondly, if the game ships and is broken, or the team pulls out / sells it off, everyone with an active alpha copy gets paid back double what they spent.

I want to see trucks where people can ride in the back, new characters, new huge mountains with caves you can hole up in and create fires in, secret hidden passageways with boobytraps, new military bases with multiple fence clearence that a group of players can take over and control from ground/or watch tower and have full control over open and close fence gates, AK47's,M1 carbines, armories with ww2 weapons, bicycles, camoflauge quads, long tailed fur raccoon hats, Heavy machine guns mountable on trucks

..Seriously its been two years in development of dayz and we have 99% of all weapons removed, 99% of all zombies removed, 100% of vehicles and animals removed.. and a motorcycle helmet to show for it

I just can't wait for the day where a real game company takes up a dayz type project

....go play the mod for now, Aphas clearly aren't your cup of tea. Il add that such whining when we are on what month 4? of a 2 year projected build time, is premature by a long shot. If we haven't got cars of key features 18months in I might start to worry, but for now theres no problem whatsoever with the pace of development.

The mod will defo hold your interest more for now. Hell just last night I was laughing to myself....Was thinking about everyone foaming at the mouth for hunting and cooking.....as I casually gutted my sheep and cooked up some mutton on the fire :)

I love how some people talk about features like cars as if they are just an idea. They were in arma 2 Dayz mod. All the team is doing is reworking them (like how they reworked the health system). The support for them always has, and always will be there. They were very clear that this game would be a featureless buggy mess for the most of these 2 years....you were informed ;)

I think that the team is doing a good job, they just had a bit of setbacks lately, which is to be expected in this phase of developement. There is no need to sound of the alarm just because the patch to stable is a week or two late. I have trust in Dean and his team and I am enyojing the game, eaven if its missing alot of desired content at the moment. We as community just need a little more patience and let the team do their job in peace.

Are you serious? how old are you 12? There is no single valid agrument in your post OP. Obviously you lack skills in reading or understanding what you read.

-Its not about the Cooking Pot, its about the new server messaging system, wich is kind of a complex change to the architecture itself.

-Bohemia interactive is the Studio.

-Dont buy indie games then, so i dont have to read your verbal gush. Or at least dont compare them to AAA Titles.

-YOU dont really understand [please insert anything here]

And please dont just create accounts on this forum to create stupid rant threads. (even if you bought a game just because it is successful)

well, Dayz is is being developed too slowwwwww. This is a fact ;)

the way I see deans team is as this if you get 200 hundred people working on a project like this you have all those personalities there art style and there vision of the game. you also have a lot more bullshit to cut through to get anything done. with a smaller team means less egos and less bullshit they have to do to communicate with each other and share and actually implement ideas. another good example would be( sorry if your not a reznor fan but) imagine if trent reznor actually had a band his music would sound totally different but he does most of it solo and is in control of whats added and whats trashed. now look at tool now they have the 4 members 5 if you count alex grey but whatever they have the album finished the music atleast but one of the members wants to be a douche bag and be lazy so nothing happens(fuck maynard he's a douche yes I said it). I'm sure I lost anyone reading this but sometimes a large team is not the answer things stay more pure with a smaller team it just requires more patience from us and more time.

tin foil hats man...

think about it, you payed someone early for a product...they already have your money...so why bother finishing the project?

there is more incentive to finish a project when you havent been payed yet!

Oh nooooos, were all screwed!

itll be fine, crazy people gotta stop with the crazy posts

30 some odd million dollars is chump change to develop a video game so ease up.

you will see some major major shit as we near the end of alpha, remember alpha is performance and server side crap. so essentially no massively noticeable updates. (is how it should be)

but because of the whiney babys they are forced to toss shit in here and there.

im no fanboy, but let them get the alpha done proper...then you will get your silly features in beta.

remember, they said "DONT BUY SA YET"!

you should be fully aware what you payed for.

would you rather spend $20 for this and the future game? or have waited a year and payed $60?

put it on the  shelf for 6 mo and you will be blown away with the progress

Ha at least im not some 50yr old fighting with young people about a video game and actually getting mad.. Grow up dude. And you calling people 12 is a pretty immature thing for a grown man to say considering you are at the age most grown men would be parents by now

I'm 46, AND a parent.. so are some of my friends, who also play Dayz.

Is this OK with you?

My missus plays tf2 quite a lot, often tops the board in a round. I can just imagine the anguish you would suffer knowing you'd just been owned by a 43 y/o woman :D

Older people can't possibly be real gamers, can they?

I mean, I haven't been gaming since the invention of the ZX Spectrum have I? I didn't used to play competetive Quakeworld at a high level in 97 did I? Don't dis the old folk, sonny..

There are times you'll get spanked by us and not even know it!

You and "your people" are the reason the gaming industry is fucked today mate.

All i hear when i read this is:

Quality over quantity tbh.

And you cant be surprised about the pase, when you know its gonna be in development for nearly two more years tbh.

You where told this when you bought it, if you know how to read ofc ;)

Uh oh.  Time for me to point out again that Chris Roberts has 218 people full time making Star Citizen.     An time for every Dayz fan to tell me Chris Roberts is wrong but Bohemia and Dean are right to have 30.

Yea, Chris Roberts may have lots of people but even if you pay lots of money there still isn't much to do except for looking at your ships in some Hangar modules. Releasing intervals are even lower than for Dayz, even with hundreds of people working on it, apparently

By the way, if anyone wants to know what's really happening behind the scenes and you haven't seen the official dev log, then take a look here. It might surprise you..

You realize they have been adding constant updates to experimental branch, right?

people don't really seem to understand experimental/stable in the SDLC.

So we know they have money.. Where is it?  So the excuse of "small dev team" is no longer a viable excuse..

Because they have money now doesn't mean they have to spend it.

Well, you see, the game was 'flawed from the start'

*shrug*

Yes this.

I was unpleasantly surprised when I bought standlaone alpha and I saw that it not only has all the mod flaws (combat loggers, .pbo exploits, dupliactions, desynchronization problems) but it also new ones like all sorts of wall glitches, rubberbanding and all the zombie problems.

I know it is alpha but cmon, if it from start have all mod problems that standalone supposed to fix then it is a bad sign.

The OP vaguely reminds me of a child screaming "I want it NOW NOW NOW" when told he can't have ice cream until after dinner.

OP, eat your motherfucking brussle sprouts, this is why we can't have nice things.

So tell me folks...

when does your patience run out?

Mine is wearing thin, especially with the fucking experimental servers down for 24 hours.

Hello there

To my eyes it doesnt sound as if you , like many others, have much patience.

We are lucky we have something playable at this stage and the amount of hours some players have put in is astounding.

For those moaning and complaining about a bit of downtime or a delayed incremental should really consider putting the game aside until it it properly released and then come back.

The turn around time of updates is surprisingly fast.

Downtime is to be expected. It states that in all those lovely disclaimers.

The issue here is that folk wanted to play the game NOW and are upset that they cant. I can understand that to a degree, but you guys knew that before you purchased. We even stickied a thread where where dean tell you NOT to buy it.

Now, those of us who did dip into our wallets did so to assist in pushing the game further than its planned milestones and we have achieved that. But in so doing so, we have raised the bar even higher which in turn will lengthen the dev time.

As to an earlier poster saying just to stuff new content in no matter how sloppy....... massive facepalm. Multiple palms and faces everywhere.

One of the "issues" is that dean is a perfectionist. This is to our benefit and detriment(ish).

I chatted to him about how hard he drives his designers for example, so that new models hit a certain standard of quality. This means thinks like the AKM/47/s (whichever version) etc are not just insta ported in from Arma. So, although he could get away with it he does not want to take the lazy and sloppy route but rather wants to deliver as a fresh new experience as is possible.

(Before anyone yells "chernarus!!111!11!" really, no i mean really take a long good look at how its different and enhanced.

As to Bohemia selling off the game... gut feeling does not proof make.

Ive a gut feeling Matt is going to ask me to move in with him in Prague. I dont really think its going to happen. Lets stick to facts shall we?

Lastly "Studio" has several meanings, it doesnt just mean a building.

Doesn't everyone realize you cannot win an argument about how terrible things are becoming? You want to know why?! They told you NOT to buy the game! So guess what, they can do whatever they want and when they want to do it. You pissed off that these guys can't simply release a quick fix to prevent people from camping inside walls? Doesn't matter. You mad about people duping weapons with their friends? Tough shit, they told you NOT to buy this game.

You can complain about anything and everything that is completely broken with this game and no matter how you word it, they will always be able to say "well...well.....uh...WE TOLD YOU NOT TO BUY IT SO...HA!"

It's like dealing with a bunch of fucking children.

There is almost no point to these forums. They told you not to buy it, you bought it. They can do whatever they want, period.

they. ported. the. mod. to. RV3.

all the flaws, ported.
