New peices to the puzzle?

We have seen lots of stuff being put into the Experimental Branch but when are we gonna get it on the stable branch? Stable Branch is getting stale And experimental Branch is difficult to connect to, the last update to the Stable branch was about a month ago so, I guess what I am wondering is if we will see a update to the stable branch any time soon?

Stable stale? It is up to the player to make their own fun :)

 

Last I checked, stable was for having a "stable" version up and experimental was for testing purposes

 

Unsure as to what you mean by experimental is hard to connect to. Servers are plenty and connection stays the same.

 

I frequent experimental a lot and I have bad bad internet. The only hassle I can see would be downloading and re-downloading of stable when you finish playing exp. There is a work around for this...

 

Make a folder and call it dayz backup or something, in that folder create another 2. Label one as stable and the other as experimental.

 

Copy the stable dayz folder and the dayz app-manifest (221100) into the newly created stable folder. Now download the experimental and do the same, this time putting it in the newly created experimental folder.

 

Exit steam before you change from stable/experimental, then just swap the folders and app-manifest around when you feel like playing either. With a ssd, I can be out of stable and into experimental within 2-3 minutes as the transfer speed is instant. Some people might find this as extra work, but for the bad net users, I find this works wonders.

 

Once you do this, there is no need to go into dayz steam options and opt in and out of experimental as the app manifest does this.

 

It might take a little "long" if you have a standard hdd with low transfer speeds though.

Software development isn't something that happens at a solid, steady rate. Shit happens, bad bugs pop up that are often hidden very deep in an area that you wouldn't expect, things don't work for absolutely NO reason. Often entire areas of development have to grind to a halt because of one little thing.

Its super hard to click "version" to filter the servers.. and then to have to click "join" after that is just too much grief for me to handle too OP.

LOL, I appreciate all of the negative criticism. However, I am able to connect, but for some reason I am stuck on the wait for host screen until my eyes bleed. So, it isn't that they are unavailable or that I am just being lazy it just seems to be an issue with getting out of the wait for host screen.

 

Maybe the experimental servers are just crap, Or DayZ is acting in such a way to screw with my computer, come to think of it when I download patches and such Steam is trying to access my disk, an issue unique to dayz. and i have been getting errors from windows stating that Dayz is trying to change configurations to windows. also i must add that i am on a 30meg service and i have no issues running other games just in case someone wants to chime in with the old "DOH HUH" "Ih musht be yer intanet cunectshun"

Well as was suggested above checking the dev tracker might be a good place to start http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/forum/131-devtracker/ it's always a good place to check often to see what happening, that and the announcements section of the forums. 

 

They have been messing with the experimental servers all weekend trying to isolate a couple of issues with client/server connection and they are trying to make it so that players don't experience large de-sync.  They have been working all weekend on this issue so I can only assume they are still working on it, they had to go back through previous builds just to find where the issue's began and going through all of the code to figure the how and why behind it all.  Then they need to develop a solution for the situation, which while it is a single issue a simple fix would create several other bugs so they need to plan and code accordingly in order to ensure their fix hasn't created another bug that they will need to do the same with further down the line.

 

Edit: They refuse to push the current experimental to stable until they have ironed out these bug's.

 

I'm sure that you are well aware from the warning's that you have to click through every time you start the game that these kinds of issues are expected to occur, I understand your frustration, but when these types of things occur I tend to go do something else.  Lately I've been putting a fair amount of time into Skyrim and thanks to the recent steam sale about to sink some time into GTA 5 not to mention I have S3 of Game of Thrones to catch up with and an episode of Viking's, I've always got a book that need's reading then take into account anything the wifey need's done and visiting friends and that's plenty of stuff to do while I'm waiting for things to be fixed.
