Quick question: What is Hardcore?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'd like to very quickly ask, what is Hardcore mode? What does it influence? It's not really written down in obvious ways, and the game has very little introductory information. A quick search also turned up no results.

So, if I only use third person to stare at my self, then there is absolutely no reason not to play hard core?

yes its more interesting not being able to look around corners without actually looking around the corner (more suspense), for me anyways, not that I don't play both - also u get an extra "character" you can have one for reg and one for hardcore

what is more interesting is a subjective matter really. to state that one is a better preference than the other is simply stupid or plain juvenile ..which often is the very same thing... "hardcore" is for some reason the game mode where you only have access to first person perspective. third person perspective has been labeled as "regular" and for some odd reason it seems that, players swearing to hardcore, they simply can't miss an opportunity to rack down on 3pp (third person perspective) ..lol

Yeah, I'd much rather switch the terms. Because for me, using third person is a extra job. I can feel much safer in hardcore, due knowing, if I can't see people (them being impossible to see due to obstructions), they can't see me. For someone who uses only first person. Hardcore seems like an actual fair game.

In the mod version Hardcore also removed some hud elements and waypoints placed on the map.

I dunno man. The guy before you didn't really say anything to get this response. He said he thought it was more interesting to him (which means he's admitting that it's subjective) but plays both. You're making it look like you can't miss an opportunity to take a swing at hardcore players. So yeah, OP, this is a hot-button topic here.

Perhaps YOU are the mistaken one.

EDIT: There was a mod version of DayZ that ran off the Arma engine before DayZ stand alone was released. That is the mod that was referred to.

I'm actually surprised at the amount of people who play hardcore. In the mod, there was only 1 or 2 first person only servers, and they  usually had 1 or 2 people on them at a time. I love hardcore servers now.

Crabcore is a faux-genre label given to eurodance influenced screamo bands that are strictly defined by the body contortion of the band’s guitarists during performance. Also known as the “CrabHammer” or “C*ck Duster,” the term describes a guitarist’s ridiculously low (and quite uncomfortable looking) stance while playing guitar during heavy break sections of songs. It is often associated with bands that are an amalgamated style of modern metalcore, deathcore, post-hardcore and pop music.
