Why don't our characters wear boots properly?

As far as US military, we do not (unless its a new thing they started doing recently) tuck our pants in our boots. We use bootbands to make it look that way..

Marines use boot bands. Army tucks I think.

Your pants, go INSIDE your combat/military or whatever boots, this should be in DayZ.

 

And even though I don't like wellies, wearing them outside your boots completely ruins their porpoise.

 

Is this something to be fixed or implemented later?

 

 

I hope so, that would be nice. There really should be an option on how you wear you clothes. Maybe tucked into shoes. Same goes towards a shirt.

I think this was denied because it is very gender specific. I remember rocket pointing it out somewhere on the forums or reddit. None the less, good idea for beards, but might not apply to women. ;)

In Europe, we tuck the pants into the boots. Since the game is based on a European landmark, it would make sense.

Soldiers don't tuck the pants into the boots. It would be very uncomfortable. Military pants are let outside, and sometimes they have elastics at the base of their pants so that they stay at the top of the boots such as there (French troops in Mali):

 

 

 

However pants should be pur inside wellies, but this would demand a special mesh for wellies. I don't know if they can do that.

 

There is no much army wearing wellies today, except the FARC.

Maybe it would be a good idea to have the TTSKO pants come with the bands that make it "look" like they are tucked. I still think that other pants should give you an option of tucking them in, however.

Tucking trousers into boots looks stupid and we never did anything like that. I only saw The Americans doing it but even they hated how it looked.

 

We didn't tie ours or wear twisters (boot bands) because in hot places it's nice to have your trousers baggy and airy, plus it doesn't hinder movement.

 

Tie your trousers in any way and they'll ride up over your boots eventually.

 

The British Army used to have pretty lapse standards of dress outside of barracks. On tour we'd have beards, have our arms out and didn't have haircuts hardly ever. This was only because we'd be so far away from any rank we could get away with it. This all changed when the US marines took over sangin in 2008, their commanding officer said we looked like a defeated army. We didn't of course, they were just jealous that we looked cooler than them.

 

Nothing worse than having to worry about how smart you look when you're stuck in PB for months on end.

Having a long beard is hampering in such conditions as this game tries to simulate. I have pretty quick beard growth (once grew it to about 21-22 cm in a year and a half) and I usually keep my beard trimmed short or shave it off completely. The work needed to keep a beard is pretty big.

 

I'm for beards in the game, but keep them short.

BTW I wear combat trousers inside my Boot tops. If I wear "jeans" I wear them over the boot.
