Crooked Hauser 258 Posted March 7, 2014 As far as US military, we do not (unless its a new thing they started doing recently) tuck our pants in our boots. We use bootbands to make it look that way.. Marines use boot bands. Army tucks I think.
hombrecz 832 Posted March 7, 2014 One does not simply wear trousers on top of his wellies !!! Anyway I assume this would cause serious clipping issues, so I'm affraid we are stuck with pants on top of boots forever.
Princess Dookie 35 Posted March 7, 2014 (edited) You see.. Your pants, go INSIDE your combat/military or whatever boots, this should be in DayZ. And even though I don't like wellies, wearing them outside your boots completely ruins their porpoise. Is this something to be fixed or implemented later? I hope so, that would be nice. There really should be an option on how you wear you clothes. Maybe tucked into shoes. Same goes towards a shirt. "Also, I heard that we will be able to have beards and shave them, will we be able to shave our heads too?I would really like to see that. Thanks in advance." I think this was denied because it is very gender specific. I remember rocket pointing it out somewhere on the forums or reddit. None the less, good idea for beards, but might not apply to women. ;) Edited March 7, 2014 by Princess Dookie

Karakoz 141 Posted March 7, 2014 (edited) Soldiers don't tuck the pants into the boots. It would be very uncomfortable. Military pants are let outside, and sometimes they have elastics at the base of their pants so that they stay at the top of the boots such as there (French troops in Mali): However pants should be pur inside wellies, but this would demand a special mesh for wellies. I don't know if they can do that. There is no much army wearing wellies today, except the FARC. Edited March 7, 2014 by Karakoz

I still think that other pants should give you an option of tucking them in, however.

In Europe there is more than one country, and in many of them pants are not tucked into the boots. Be more specific please. TheWanderingMan 170 Posted March 7, 2014 Tucking trousers into boots looks stupid and we never did anything like that. I only saw The Americans doing it but even they hated how it looked. We didn't tie ours or wear twisters (boot bands) because in hot places it's nice to have your trousers baggy and airy, plus it doesn't hinder movement. Tie your trousers in any way and they'll ride up over your boots eventually. The British Army used to have pretty lapse standards of dress outside of barracks. On tour we'd have beards, have our arms out and didn't have haircuts hardly ever. This was only because we'd be so far away from any rank we could get away with it. This all changed when the US marines took over sangin in 2008, their commanding officer said we looked like a defeated army. We didn't of course, they were just jealous that we looked cooler than them. Nothing worse than having to worry about how smart you look when you're stuck in PB for months on end. You look like ass, you probably act like ass. High and tights for everyone. Ok I'm not actually giving a fuck.

doublebrain 255 Posted March 7, 2014 Just wear short/capri (3/4) pants and you c the nice (A)Also beards was never offical confirmed. Beards are confirmed but only for normal character customization. Beards that grow over time are not confirmed, thats right.

Does anyone know if different hair colour is confirmed in character creation? Choices of black, reddish brown, straw and grey would be enough.

Cant find it confirmed anywhere but still I think it will be in the game. They wanted to add a quite good character customization so custom hair colour is a must have, right? TheWanderingMan 170 Posted March 7, 2014 Beards that get longer as you survive are definitely needed. When we find a Gandalf lookalike we'll know that he's truly a veteran lol.

Having a long beard is hampering in such conditions as this game tries to simulate. I have pretty quick beard growth (once grew it to about 21-22 cm in a year and a half) and I usually keep my beard trimmed short or shave it off completely. The work needed to keep a beard is pretty big. I'm for beards in the game, but keep them short. Edited March 7, 2014 by Strawman

Same in the British army (lmao tuck our pants into our boots ffs) and why doesn't it ruin our dolphins too if they ruin our porpoises? Presumably when they're not tucked into our boots they're completely useless? Don't let the Taliban onto this everyone....shhhhhh
OrLoK 16185 Posted March 7, 2014 Why? why does this thread exist? if only someone would close it? Oh, I can. I shall. BTW I wear combat trousers inside my Boot tops. If I wear "jeans" I wear them over the boot. If you want to discuss regs then I suggest you make a thread on in in off topic. Rdgs LoK
