GrappleX 354 Posted March 5, 2014 (edited) can you expect to find guns in large apartment buildings/schools or the fire house always had guns pre SA I've never really looted apartment buildings, so I couldn't tell you. The only place in fire stations where I've found weapons is the very top, where there is sometimes a handgun. I've found more than a few guns in schools, mosins, magnums, etc. The problem is most of them are looted to shit by the time you can get to them. Baby Jesus (DayZ) 45 Posted March 5, 2014 can you expect to find guns in large apartment buildings/schools or the fire house always had guns pre SALarge apartments spawn little to nothing, at least the last time I checked them. I wouldn't waste my time on them yet.
comikz 218 Posted March 5, 2014 The coast is a warzone, especially Balota/Cherno/Elektro and at times even Berezino/Svetlojarsk can be heavy with firefights, you want to go farther inland, away from the coast, and find the airstrips along with larger cities inland such as novy/stary sobor, vybor, krasznostav, zelengorsk, ect. those places are great, still risky, but not as bad as people sniping new spawns on the coast, lol... TEST_SUBJECT_83 465 Posted March 5, 2014 (edited) Yes staying away from the coast is good advice, but I can get fully geared going from electro to cherno to bolota all being along the cost. You just need to know where to look. I can be set before leaving cherno most of the times and not even touch bolota. Edited March 5, 2014 by TEST_SUBJECT_83
AGBenny 18 Posted March 5, 2014 Funny when I see these posts. I always end up finding more food and guns then I can carry within a couple hours...let alone 10 hours I could probably full gear up 5 different characters if I had em.

River Lizard 47 Posted March 5, 2014 I'm trying to figure out how you survived for 10 hrs without any food....you must be sitting in a field waiting for food to drop out of the sky....cuz ya sure ain't running any place or you'd be dead by now!! You almost start off needing food......can a person really survive for 10 hrs on 2 pipsi's?
nighhawk 41 Posted March 5, 2014 Ughhh.. dont effing server hop. Go watch some videos, learn about servers and restarts and how looting works. Get a buddy who has played longer than you and knows his stuff. Because if you have played for 10 hours and only have 2 pipsi from it.. YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG SIR.When I say server hop, I mean stay on an empty/ high ping server unyil you're geared up. Sort of the same thing, sort of not. Just go gotta a place that isn't looted and has guns. I'd tell you an amazing place on the coast, but I don't want all them noobs coming to my looting spot. River Lizard 47 Posted March 5, 2014 I lost my experimental guy tonight....freakin' ladders!! Anyway, I spawned on the East coast and within 20 minutes I had a hiking backpack, 2 axes, several food items, a hoodie and believe it or not...a perfect can opener...all within about 2 miles from the coast...Then I headed inland and North....and within an hour I had a 45 auto, a bunch of M4 ammo clips, military helmet, military pants, boots, a full backpack ....I just logged off after 2.5 hours of playing...only thing I need now is a rifle, military vest and some storage containers and I'll be set again. Get out of the field and go get some gear....stay off the experimental servers unless you have a fire axe....the zombies will tear you up in no time. Good luck. Whyherro123 2283 Posted March 5, 2014 All of the people telling you to run willy-nilly into the woods is, sadly, rather mistaken. You will most likely get lost and die in the woods. Instead, follow the coast until you find a road into said woods. Follow said road until you pass a house/building. Don't bother, as it probably has already been looted. Instead, keep on going. You will eventually come across some form of water pump, which will keep you alive until you find food in the towns in the very center of the map. Also, look in barns, not only the long ones, but the hayloft-y type ones, as they often (for me) spawn food, shoes, decent clothing, starter parks, and even axes on the rare occasion. Meekalew 44 Posted March 5, 2014 As the title says I have played for now 10 hours and have yet to encounter 1 gun or even 1 peice of food to eat. Dont worry though, i did however find 2 cans of pepsi in this time span.. So. Where are all the guns at? Seriously? This is rediculous. Are there even guns in the lower part regular buildings at all anymore or do you specifically have to go to military bases to get anything decent? Either way i havent seen anything anywhere. Help There are plenty of guns, look in military bases, police stations (on Experimental and hitting stable soon), and also in many storage units (often overlooked by people it seems). They can also be found around farm areas and barns, etc. Military guns are only available from military bases, generally speaking, or from people you kill. If you want food, go inland, it's much easier to find than on the coast, where every new spawn is looking for food.

pythonmsh 71 Posted March 5, 2014 I've been playing this game since the mod came out. You have to server hop or get off the coast. Your best bet is waiting until item re spawns are added. If you want to gear up on a populated server there's a good chance you wont find loot on the coast if you do you're fairly lucky or if you go in land it's fairly minimal. Especially guns. Rancor 90 Posted March 5, 2014 (edited) So you need to get off the coast to get loot now? this was not hte case in the mod for arma 2. however i guess il give it a shot. theres no map function is there? Its because the loot doesn't respawn... they will maybe fix it sometime in the future, but the priority for this is obviously pretty low. Currently they are working on other things, like cooking and zombie respawn.. Edited March 5, 2014 by Rancor
