There was no reason for them to remove it functioning with other hard hat helmets except for the motor bike helm.

Exactly why worry about something small like this that some ppl enjoyed and instead focus on something more pressing? It just baffles me silly. Especially with all the proof of real life gas mask and ballistic helmet combos in military organizations.

I typically do not wear the helmet/mask, most of the time people wearing those are the ones looking for a fight and are the ones I typically watch from a distance of 400+ meters, lol....

Disposable Respirator doesn't clip with any headgear, no clue why it's being disabled, but as for the M10 and Payday masks, they were probably just disabled to be worn together because they clip (although they also clip with baseball hats, radar caps, the "soft" hats yet they aren't being disabled with them).

I have to say i was never a big fan of wearing the trucker/military/baseball caps in game however i really like the construction gear head pieces as well as the NEW boonies coming out. Omg they have some REALLY nice color and camo ones for the boonies when i was playing on test server.

Its an immersion/realism thing.  Military gas-masks are designed to be worn with ballistic helmets. Civilian gas masks not so much, but those are the kind scientists in their bubble-suits wear, and they look totally different. The ones in-game are definitely military design, and as someone with a military background it was a WTF; seriously? type moment when it wouldnt let me wear both at once.  At the moment it is a non-important issue fit for the back burner, but for the sake of realism and immersion it does need to be made known so it can be adressed

Not being able to wear them  now with no reason from the developers as to why this this got taken out as such a logical combination of gear makes me pretty fucking sad.

Not ONLY is it a very logical step in military wear but it would have mad sense for a zombie apocalypse scene.

I really miss the ballistic helmet gas mask combination. It even bugs me so much that I can't continue playing at the moment - kind of. Basically they removed a costumisation/character individualisation option. (why would any developer remove such a feature in the first place - makes no sense to me at all o.O) They should allow us wearing both items at the same time. They have to reimplement it-.-. I never even recognized the clipping issue with the gas mask and helmet combo XD.

Seems like an odd thing to complain about. I highly doubt it these changes are permanent. It seems likely that all masks were categorized as the same slot, so fixing the motorcycle/mask combo broke you beloved gas mask, ballistic helm look.

 

I would like to see it back in game. Masks determine who I KoS and who is given a chance. Anybody that hides their face is untrustworthy.

also if your smart you don't stay in places for to long and get greedy. Im always on the move dude. You can bet though ill be hunting more and stuff in my spare time when i can. Base building or whatever latter on.

 

And iv been on the coast but i don't do the bandit crap however i keep an eye out before heading into coastal towns for anything. MAINLY for train stations because there are not enough inland atm just maybe one up north west atm. Mainly for stab and press vest.

I have been to all military locations and was also looking for beans around the coast - so that makes me what? Someone who enjoys the military look and sight-seeing in DayZ? o.O

I'm pretty butthurt. In a game with not many customization options I choose the gas mask over the helmet nearly every time.

I could care less about a little clipping, they can fix that later.

yeah a ww1 or even WW2 type would be awesome.

 

There are TONES of different models both old and new they could inspire from on the subject. Hell even crafted gas mask could be a thing.
