People who KoS on strict PvE-No KoS Servers.

Recommended Posts

Why do you do it? I'll admit, i'm new, but it's why i've popped over to the No KoS servers so i have a place to learn without dying every 2 seconds. They are few and far between. Serious question, not raging (well now at least) but I am curious. Tons of other servers to get your blood lust out of the way, so I can only think that a person just wants to be a troll.

there is no NO-KoS.

Especially on those severs you get kos, just a foolish severname.

Because PVE servers don't exist yet. No matter what the title says, you can't enforce no pvp.

Because PVE servers are not allowed and there is no point in having a pve server in dayz. why even considering this :/ Do you PVE only when you have private hives

ask why some admin try to break BIS server rules ;)

So i've noticed.

Essentially, I am aware that it's impossible to prevent people from KoSing. Like i said, not raging at the matter (I killed the guy in return so i'm chill.) just wanted to pick brains.

I'm sorry, but if your going to PVE servers just to avoid getting killed your not gonna learn anything.....

PvE/no KoS servers are pretty much a flat-out invite for KoS players to go and do their thing and have a blast ruining as many people's game as possible. The arguments for it are many and varied, and make varying degrees of sense.

However, as a survivor player who doesn't KoS, but also sees it as a valid playstyle that has a place in DayZ, I'd urge you not to waste your time on such servers - not only are the rules they seek to make pretty much unenforceable, you're seriously limiting your DayZ experience by trying to cancel out one of the single biggest aspects of DayZ - the threat from other players.

Dying every 2 minutes is part of learning to play DayZ! If you're not dying constantly for the first few days, you're probably doing it wrong. Each death is a learning experience, whether you're learning that ladders are kind of iffy to get on and off, or that the guy running around the middle of a city with an assault rifle probably doesn't want to make friends - each time you respawn, you've learned a little more about Chernarus and what it takes to survive there. Embrace it, because it's a better teacher than any amount of PvE could ever be. :)

Its not even that it's impossible, its literally against the server hosting rules.

They are just named that way to lure players in. There is no such thing as Non-KOS servers at the moment and there won't be until private hives are allowed.

It's like when I tell my one year old not to throw her bottle. It just makes her want to throw the shit out of it.

I am under the belief that when one is new, there's no such thing as a stupid question.

I was actually unaware that it was against server hosting rules. There are 3 important bits of information that i've already learned from this thread, from posting it.

your more likely to get KOS'd on a PVE/no PVP server than u are standing in the middle of electro on a normal server. my advice to you sir is to find a low pop head north along the coast till you hit guba its a good place for new players I havn't ever ran into a lot of heat up there.NEAF of course may be hot but just avoid it if you can. the police station should have at least an SKS there are 2 more piano houses and a bunch of other good starting loot spots. wait till if ever private servers when they like I said if they do happen will have every type of playstyle you can think of and on of those being PVE/no PVP and if they have AI bots eventually beware they are a lot more crappy to deal with than humans they don't quit and they can see through walls like fighting a human with hacks.

Good to know, thank you.

The PvE servers were something i sought out whilst actually adjusting to the control schemata. Never played Arma, nor the Day Z mod, so to say the controls feel clunky is.. I suppose an understatement.

No KOS servers are like the female G-Spot to some if not most men.

They don't exist. If you find it you're lucky.

As stated earlier it's against the server rules. Kind of why I stopped my server.  $70 a month to get dictated how you run your shit. You're literally paying more than the alpha price just to help test the game.

If it's in the title stop fooling yourself that it's really like that.  Head down to elektro in order to have a really really quick lesson in the fact they don't exist.

I'm pretty sure PVE servers are against the rules.

I never KoS - in fact, I've never killed another player in over 100 hours of DayZ.

But if I ever did decide to change play-style and go on a rampage, I'd probably go on a server with a name like that. Just to spite the idiots who think it's acceptable to try and have PvE-only servers.

Well, despite the start of this thread, it has been informative, thank you. It was in no ways a whining thread. My mistake was in thinking that it was a common place server rule, and not one that was actually against the global rules of the game. Now that I know this, I will most definitely be more perceptive of my surroundings. Mistake number one, dropping my guard.
